I (and many others) have noticed that enough elemental damage from a fusion rifle, grenade, or super can vaporize a supplicant instead of letting them explode. Oddly, this same concept doesn't seem to apply to snipers or primaries (and shotguns I assume, but I'm not getting close enough to a suicide bomber to test that one out).
