That is strange and never have heard that one before, but I think it is just a way to make sure you go the right way. Great input though.

That's the only part of the raid I've seen it literally force you in one direction the rest of my group headed down to the maze and I was messing around at the entrance and headed back up the the Templar well and was marked, It doesn't kill you just makes the screen green.

I've had that happen. Screen turns green and makes it a little difficult to navigate.

Maybe try to kill a Gorgon while marked
