Vault of Glass EASTER EGG *Expert Searcher*

You already know what this thread is about. We don't know (and may never know) if there truly is more to the VoG, but regardless the search will inevitably continue. I am making this thread because I have done a lot of searching and theory testing, like too much. Ask me anything, and I will be able to tell you if it has been done or not. I will be able to tell you if you're ideas are worth a shot or not. I will try to reply to every post and give you my input. I'm not trying to brag but I probobly have more knowledge of the search than all the other thread OP's combined. There is just way too much shit being flung around on these threads (excuse my french). But seriously, don't take advice from them, they don't know nearly as much as they should. I would gladly make a list of my findings, but I'd rather keep this post less cluttered for now. [b]So go ahead, ask away.[/b] I would really like to get this one trending rather than the ill-knowladged ones that are going on right now. [b]EDIT: Here is the list of my findings:[/b] [spoiler]-Under/In front of the spire (its on the ground) is another portal guarded by a lone pretorian. On the wall above the portal are red lights connected in a fashion that seems to look like a map of some sort. -A special musical number plays when you perfectly open the spire (AKA don't let pretorians enter the plates). It is very distinctive. THIS HAS BEEN DUBUNKED. NOT TRUE -The lights in the ceiling above the first chest are actually just environment lights and have nothing to do with triggers. I was actually the one to theorize about them a while back, and a lot of people caught on. Sadly, they don't mean anything. -There are boxes everywhere and nobody knows why. I push them off because #YOLO -There is an alternative path under chest 1. -Inside the alternative path there are many red lights on the wall. Shooting them will make a spark effect. -There are at least 4 hidden rooms in the alternative path that seem perfects for some hidden content. -Upon exiting the alternative path, the first conflux spawns. Its almost like clockwork, like you were meant to take that way. -There is one red light in the templars area. Its on the left side by the left conflux. -A 5th chest can spawn when you prevent the templar from teleporting and if it is done under 10 minutes. It contains ascendent materials. -The spirit bloom chest does not seem to trigger anything. The 5th chest does not disappear when you open it. -There are a few hidden rooms in the spirit bloom passageway, some are actually pretty big. -In the gorgons area is 11 'blue flames' on the ground. Standing on it will extinguish them. -There are about 4 red lights in the gorgons area. -Above the chests in the gorgons area (on the ceiling) is a pattern that resembles the Vex Mythoclast scope almost exactly. It is really strange. Look up next time you're in there. -There is a hidden tunnel left of the jumping puzzle. Take the tunnel and jump down about 200 meters where there is another hidden cave. -Upon taking this hidden tunnel, a second set of platforms spawn and take you to Atheons door. -A lone vex gate is in the jumping platforms. Getting there is easy, getting back is almost impossible. -There are red lights outside of Atheons door. -Atheons door can be opened during the Gatekeeper fight. -After killing Atheon, time stops. The times is stuck at 0. -There is a way to activate 'Time Vengeance' after atheon is dead and time is stopped. -Gorgons respawn in the same exact location about 30 seconds after you kill them. It sucks. -There is a way to bypass the gorgons 'immunity' that they gain after killing one. If you cycle damage types (i.e. void, arc, solar) per gorgon the immunity won't occur, therefore the gorgons don't 'get stronger'. However, read the bullet above this one[/spoiler] [b]EDIT 2: Here is a list of theories that have been [u]debunked[/u]:[/b] [spoiler]-Flawless runs on normal mode (Perfect spire open, no sacrifices, no oracle marking, no teleports, no gorgons gaze, and no deaths.) No chest spawns in the tunnel left of jumping puzzle nor on the lone vex portal. -Touching all platforms with all members does not do anything special. -Full fire team of raid gear (without shaders) does not make you immune to gorgons. -The bubble shield with the blinding ability does not blind gorgons. -Killing gorgons does not do anything special, they respawn from a cave in the back in about 30 seconds. -Standing on blue flames in gorgons area does not do anything. -Having all members stand on the vex portal in the jumping puzzle does not do anything. -Bringing the relic to the vex portal in the jumping puzzle does not do anything. -Atheons door cannot be opened after gatekeeper fight with the relic. -The 'Light in the distance' past behind atheon when he spawns is impossible to get to. Shooting it with the relic does not do anything. -Bringing the relic to the gorgons maze does not inta-kill gorgons. -Killing the oracles as they spawn and 'show themselfs' does not spawn a chest. -Killing atheon without using times vengeance does not seem to spawn a chest, but not everywhere was searched. -Not opening any chests does not make one appear after atheon where he first spawns. It also does not make the loot better for any of the drops. -A special musical number does not play for a perfect spire opening. One always plays, it can be different ones but they are RNG'd -Killing oracles in the order they spawn each round does not drop extra loot or spawn a chest in the templars area. We didn't check the crystal cave though. -Gorgons do not respawn from a cave in the back, but rather spawn out of thin air about 30 seconds after you kill one. Its super lame. -The 'map' outside of the spire does not change when you open chests. -Shooting the red lights in the trail of Kabr does not do anything special.   • So I feel like a lot of the "lore" or hints on the Grimoire cards is explained/obvious hints in retrospect. One line that I'm not sure I've seen an explanation for is the one about the Oracles deciding if you're real or not. Once they do, it is implied the Templar makes their wishes so. Getting marked then will lead to the ritual of negation which kills you. That implies all we've ever seen to date is the Oracles deciding you or not real. Can they decide you are? Surely there's something in that, I just have no clue how to go about getting them to do that. Perhaps in lies in a "kill order" that many have been discussing. Another line is the one about Kabr "not knowing what shape comes next" when referring to Atheon. What is that about do you figure?

    • In the platforms room when you go to the "secret tunnel" and are at the spot where you jump down to go to the crystal cave. Well if you look to the left of the vex portal without jumping down theres a mountain you can climb. I have been there once but everybody wanted to leave so i just jumped off nd wiped. The point is i dont know if you have been there or not but the tip of the mountain is kind of close to the floating platform in the sky i doubt you can make it with jetpack maybe with blade dancer its quite of a leap.

      • Has any Raid group with 7 completions for the week, as in every member, tried anything? I've also wondered about using the stuff the speaker has to offer, as in cloaks and emblems. Have you found any links to the Grimoire Mysteries #1 and #2 in the Raid. #2 speaks of a river, which I believe is the gorgon maze. Just some stuff I've been thinking about.

      • Hey i was just thinking isn't it strange that there is ONLY 6 legendary raid weapons?!? Maybe you need to beat Atheon with all 6 members having one equipped? Or maybe the weapons have something to do with it. Have you tried completing the raid with all 6 members the same class?

        • Has anyone notice that pocket infinitesimal hollow scope gets a star on it in the volt of glass and no were else (as far as I know) I was using it will patrolling then did the raid and in the raid it had a star in the hollow. Didn't have it when we were opening the volt but when inside it had the star. Don't know what it means but never seen anyone talk about it.

            • Has anyone successfully taken the relic out of the future or past atheon doorway? I'm talking about while you are in the past or future, going to the boss door while you're still in the past or future.

              • Has anyone tried this? When you kill the gate keeper and do both the left and right portal. Instead of jumping into the middle to fight atheon, can you run out of the vog with the relic and see if the portal outside lights up. My friend the other day jumped over to it using his warlock. Also I have done a number of raids and a few days ago when playing with randoms we noticed the jumping puzzle extend to the vog entrance. I haven't been able to do it again though.

              • Remember Kabr said he was by himself buy not alone? What if the whole raid team isn't supposed to go in? Three people stay outside the entrance while the others somehow make it to the gatekeeper sync plates? A 6th one would spawn or a new path opens up when all 5 are activated.

              • Portal after jump theory: Inside the vault itself, there are two portals. Right? And how do you you trigger them? With a sync plate. Maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty sure I recall the sync plates on the outside (the first three you use to open the entrance to the vault of glass) are still operable, even after the door is opened. That makes 5 sync plates total. Two on the inside, three on the outside. Would it be possible to test all three sync plates controlled at once would power the portal off to the left?

                • What are the "Vex Conflux"? A tangible, digital access point to the Vex Network of Venus. Why do the vex try to sacrifice themselves? And why is this the only part in the raid with no rewards? There has to be a reason...

                  • Not sure if you read reddit but I was wondering if you saw the recent post on their about a hole that opens up after Atheon, which is closed during the beginning of the fight. Have you taken a look into this yet? They are trying to figure out when it opens and it is not quite big enough to fit a guardian into the lower part of the hole but the upper part a guardian can enter it with a little bit of space to move with his head peeking out of the floor.

                  • Can anyone confirm whether Gorgon's Gaze automatically happens as soon as you damage a Gorgon? For example, sniping a Gorgon from very far away where they shouldn't be able to see you?

                    • I have asked this before but I have not had the means to test it out. When you wipe in the gorgons maze, the timer resets to a particular number other then zero. It always resets to 3 to 7. 5 seems to be the most common number. Have you guys tried killing 5 gorgons(or whatever the number is, new ones, not reapawns) and then go to the jumping puzzle cave to the left and down?

                      • A lot of people are talking about random caves in the gorgon maze. Also many are speaking of different sounds with the spire. What if the note the spire plays corresponds to a secret cave that is different each time in the labyrinth?

                      • Don't quote me on this, but I heard that there would be a Level 32 Hardcore mode Raid added to the Vault of Glass once The Dark Below hits. Thats probably what they meant by "noone has experienced all the Raid has to offer." And about all these elaborate theories... have you ever heard of Halo 2's "Mystery of the Gate?" On Delta Halo, if you got out of the level and into the area of the next one, you could get to a platform where there would be a floating switch, similar to the one on Zanzibar. You could grenade jump to it and it would say "Hold X to open gate." You'd always fall to your death afterwords. Theories about what this "gate" was or what the Switch did were rampant. Some said it spawned the mythical "Golden Warthog" or a usable Pelican. People found "Trigates," which were triangles drawn on the walls of some things, and thought they had something to do with the Switch. Truth be told, the Gate doesn't exist. The Switch has no function. There was no ridiculous riddle to solve. No elaborate course of action. It was Bungie trolling people.
