Does anyone do this?
Technically by doing this you could run the nightfall/raid as many times as you want per week. You're only really limited by how many times you can feasably level a new character to 20 in a week.
I'm tempted.

The real reason to do this is for the VoG and getting raid gear, though if you have a fresh character, you might as well run the weeklies while you're at it.
-
Don't bother, the main squeeze from Nightfalls lies with the faction rep and all gains throughout the week, doing this squanders your current rep.

It's just a waist of time getting the rank back up and everything else unless your desperate for raid gear I ssugest not doing this. I mad a warlock Titan and hunter then deleted my Titan and hunter and made a warlock and it still took two weeks of raids to get all my gear. Then you have to turn around and make those characters again it's just a hassle and you will burn out the game real fast idc who you are it takes 8 hrs of solid play time and bounty a to even touch lvl 20 so do the math is it worth it to you.

1 ReplyDoing the weekly activities one time for one character is plenty enough. Destiny is not that in depth or special to need more than that. I've only had one player since launch, I've got all raid gear and nearly 15 exotics and have not done anything other than weekly activities each week and my crucible/vanguard marks. Destiny sucks too much to have multiple characters and invest more time with each one

It's ridiculous that this is a legitimate option

I've made like 7 characters and each one of them except the last one I levelled up in one day . Because I can't be asked for the grind . It's so long and now I'm never making a new character from scratch . Trust me you will get bored and tired very quick

3 RepliesEdited by Omnicron: 11/11/2014 4:47:34 PMJust make 3 permanent leveled up (29+) characters and do the nightfall, vog normal, vog hard, and weekly level 28 - 3 times a week. That's a plentiful for most of us. At that point you would have most of the exotics and raid weapons you'd run out of ascendant energies to level them up. At that point you would also be dismantling most of the legendaries that the vaguard rewards you each time you level up as you would run out of vault space and weapon slots in each of your char. Besides nightfall is not too rewarding anymore. It keeps giving repeat exotic rewards. Xur keeps selling repeat weapons too that you would accumulate 100+ coins with nothing to do with it. All these by having 3 decent leveled chars.

I did it last week because I was going to get the titan achivement anyway.
-
4 RepliesStill going to cost you 16 to 20 hours to get to level 20. But if you got nothing else to do, then go for it. I already completed the nightfall, weekly and daily heroic with both characters. Let us know if it was worth the effort.
-
sooooo much effort
-
2 RepliesGetting to level 20 is no problem, but leveling up subclasses is another story entirely...
-
Did it this past week deleted one of my titans to make a warlock. Got everything done on my warlock 4x the rewards a lot of grinding to do this. Took me about 6-7 hours to get level 20
-
1 ReplyIf the reward is guarenteed exotic then maybe lol. But 5 strange coins? Nahh
-
approx 7-8 hours to get a character to 20 so...go for it I guess?
-
I have 3 characters; one warlock and two titans. I swap the titan gear back and forth between the two so they're both the same level, sort of. I have double the chances of completed the raid armor set for them since I can do the raid twice a week with titans. And I do the weekly heroic strikes on the hardest difficulty 3 times a week, so I'm guaranteed at least 27 strange coins a week.
-
I did it once took me 9 hours to go 1-20 and I got nothing but more shards wasn't worth it.
-
if you got the time and stomach to play Destiny that much, go for it
-
9 RepliesIt takes around 20 hours to get from 1 to 20. I don't think the payoff is worth it.
-
If you are on ps4 i believe you can just set the change the date back a few weeks just before the boss and you can get rewards
-
1 ReplyI wouldn't do it the grind to level 20 is way too boring
-
Idk man seems like an awful lot of grinding the same missions for a reward you are not guaranteed to get. I can see maybe doing this once but it's not for me. Hey if you don't have a problem with doing that, then -blam!- yeah man by all means go ahead. Hope you actually pull some decent loot.
-
Sounds ridiculous to me. Just use all 3 leveled characters for farming. Besides, nightfall rewards are unknown are usually disappointing for the effort.
-
To each their own. But I'm building my characters for longevity.
