Getting the Relic Shield to the Gorgon Maze (Video Evidence) *UPDATE - I added a new video addressing a lot of community suggestions*
This video shows you how to get the relic shield to the gorgon maze as well as what happens after doing so. As soon as you exit the area with the shield it will tell your teammates that the relic has been dropped even though you are still technically holding it.
Extra Info: As soon as I enter the Gorgon area it tells my teammates that the relic has been dropped. They die as a result and I get lost in the Darkness since I am outside of the area (I did not get killed by the Gorgon). From what I can tell Bungie did not intend for the shield to exit the area and thus I don't believe doing anything to the Gorgon's with the shield will cause anything to happen.

In this video I do all of the following:
1. Cleanse the island vex time gate
2. Shoot the island vex time gate with the relic shield super
3. Cleanse the tiny hidden cave
4. Shoot the relic shield super in the tiny hidden cave
5. Cleanse other random areas on the way to the Gorgon Maze
6. Shoot a Gorgon with the relic shield
7. Shield smash a Gorgon with the relic shield
8. Cleanse a Gorgon

Whilst inside the future gate, another member on the outside opened to door to Atheons room, this also opened the same door in the Future realm. I cleansed with the relic then headed outside the door. The jumping puzzle platforms due to not being phased in and out of time's reality were stagnant and allowed me to jump my way back up to the top with ease. I went to the labrynth, but there were no Gorgons to be seen, facing a dead end, i went back to the jumping puzzle and noticed the timegate at the end was active on the island. i stepped through and it phased me to orbit. I looked through my inventory and noticed my bad juju and thorn had been buffed in magazine size and thorns mark of the devourer now stated "Damage over time effects stack", there was 1 additional raid on the moon, 3 new strikes, I also got a letter in the post from Kabr, thankful for releasing him from the vault "Thankyou for releasing me from my eternal and ontological prison, you will find enclosed, a gift i no longer have use for." - it was 16 chatterwhite shaders., it seems that future timegate took me to the next DLC. true story.
