High Fire Rate Auto Rifles?

Plan on store buying me a high fire rate auto for PVE and wanted to hear opinions on people that leveled them up? Most people haven't maxed them out so just curious? So, with that said.. Doctor nope..Unwilling Soul...Hex Caster?

  • shadow price is okay....but gotta say the Antheons Epilog...she's got some bulk to her frame but once you squeeze her trigger she dances like an angel that all bow before

  • Don't, IMO. Get the Epilogue from the raid or stick with the lower fire rate auto rifles (vanquisher, shadow price). More impact and aim > more fire rate/ammo.

  • I have an unwilling soul maxed out and it destroys in PVE. Not so good in PvP at least for me since I'm dead before I can get the stability perk rolling (weapon gets more accurate as it is fired) I love the unwilling soul so much I went and bought a doctor nope for my other character and am working on leveling it now.

    • Loved my doctor nope until I got atheons epilogue from my second raid run. Now I am positive I will never use it again.

    • I have Doctor Nope from the Vanguard store. The perks it has are good, but it's hard work until you level it up. Once you have done so it's pretty effective.

    • Atheon's epilogue is pretty much the only good one. Unless you get one from engram with a stability perk. You can't aim for shit otherwise.

    • Im trying to find one with a little bit more impact but not as much as suros or shadow price. Any ideas?

    • These guns have their place. I have Atheon's Epilogue and I use it to help drop the shield on Praetorians as well as causing Phalanxes to stagger. With so many low impact bullets, you easily hit a Phalanx's hand, they stagger back (unless there is an Angry modifier), and then you shred their head. Of course, you can take careful aim with other weapons while aiming at their hand, but it's easier to land a few rounds with a high ROF rifle to get the stagger to occur. I don't think any weapon is ideal for every situation. I think that you have to have an arsenal of different goodies and adapt them to the environment in which plan to play. Happy hunting!

    • Only buy one if it has Perfect Balance as a perk; without it they are pretty worthless. I base this on owning an Atheon's Epilogue with Perfect Balance and an Unwilling Soul as well as Doctor Nope without it.

    • Unwilling Soul.. =shit Hex Caster = shit Doctor Nope is decent. Go with Vanquisher or grim High RoF with little to no impact isn't very good for anything... It's balanced as a high impact lower RoF.. But with one takes 40 bullets to do what the other can do in 6? Not so much..It's a waste of ammo..And honestly some high RoF weapons don't have much ammo to use

    • Only high ROF autorifle I would recommend is Atheons epilogue and I don't even use that anymore. Suros, Vanquisher, Shadow Price. If you have received a Visions of Confluence from VoG I would highly recommend using that. In my opinion it's the single best primary weapon in the game - Disclaimer- I do not have Hardlight or Vex yet so not comparing to those two. I have virtually every other primary in the game and although I like suros more in many respects because it is an exotic I disqualify it.

      • I have Doctor Nope and its one of my top 5 favorite guns. If you get the stability perk and know how to aim at the head its an extremely lethal weapon. The amount of bullets it fires, if aimed right, can disorient anyone in pvp leaving them asking wtf happened?!

      • They aren't worth it. The low impact and high ROF make them less desirable. You don't do more damage that a shadow price, grim citizen or vanquisher. I would recommend getting one of these 3 instead. I had thought about buying one of those guns, however just try to get atheons. If you do intend on getting one, make sure you find one with a stability upgrade

      • I have a Hex Caster fully maxed and I like to use it on occasion but I prefer my Vanquisher more. The fire rate is slower but you dispose of higher levels quicker with it imo. One tip though, if you go with a high fire rate/low impact ar, make sure you have one with good stability. They're practically useless at a range orherwise.

      • I'm an assault rifle guy. Atheons epilogue is the best no doubt. I have 3 level 30 characters so I've spent a lot of time in this game. Atheon hands down is the best pve weapon. Vanquisher is the best pvp weapon in my opinion. Legendary wise.

        • I have unwilling soul and Dr nope. I prefer Dr nope for the reduced recoil perk and the radar while aiming. Haven't tried the other one you mentioned yet. I do find that unwilling soul shoots better from the hip lol, but it's a lil gnarly recoil at times.

          • If you like Dr. Nope, you should try to get Atheon's Epilogue from the raid. It's got nearly the exact same statline as Dr. Nope, has two recoil reducing perks, and deals void damage. It's also got a cool Vex look to it.

          • Go with doc nope or hex caster, unwilling soul doesnt come with any recoil reduction if you buy it from the vendor, which makes it total crap. Most fun weapons in the game imo,too bad they arent as good as the lower fire rate autos.

            • Doctor nope is awesome. Lvled mine up all the way. 72 round magazine makes it like a machine gun. Not the best in crucible but it's like a buzz saw in PvE

              • So far the only high fire rate auto I've enjoyed is the exotic Monte Carlo.
