Best Crucible Fusion Rifle and why?

I seriously have no idea which fusion rifles keep ohking me. I have plan c, pocket infinity, and light beware, and none of them ohk. Plan C is pretty trash and pocket infinity eats through ammo

I easily go 3.0-4.0 K/D consistently just using Fusion Rifles in Rumble. All of those OHKO, you just aren't getting enough of the burst on target. The best are probably: Pocket Infinity. Often a OHKO. If that fails, usually a 2HKO. Sometimes a 3HKO at range. Practically guaranteed kill with Perfect Balance + Soft Ballistics up to medium range if you get skilled with it. Only useful with its main perk. Can kill in one burst straight through Arc Blade and Radiance if all shots land. Takes time to get used to the charge time. This is what I use most of the time. Light/BEWARE or Final Rest II + Accelerated Coils. These have just enough charge speed to hit maximum with coils but don't sacrifice more of their other stats than necessary to accomplish this, unlike Helios or The Calming. The Calming + Perfect Balance. Practically maximum charge speed without Accelerated Coils. Thus, coils are a waste on this weapon. Instead, you can run Perfect Balance to make it virtually recoilless. Plan C. Mostly as a secondary for the swap and fire speed. Still a decent all around main weapon. Not worth an Exotic slot, imo, if you don't use its Exotic perk. Something to note is that the damage of Fusion Rifles does NOT go by Impact. It is inversely proportional to the charge speed. The faster the charge speed the less damage each pellet does. Accelerated Coils, thus, lowers damage. A 77 Wizard does 50 damage per pellet without it and 45 with it. Either you kill in 4 pellets or you kill in 5. The only way to kill in 4 consistently is to use Praetorian Foil or 77 Wizard without coils, at which point you might as well use Infinity (imo). You should focus on: 1. Charge Speed 2. Stability 3. Range In that order. Charge speed is the most important as you want to be able to kill with as little prediction as possible. It lowers the risk and leaves most of the reward. Stability is next as you want all shots to land on target and low Stability Fusion Rifles are garbage at a distance. Range makes your pellets travel faster; the higher the Range, the harder it is to strafe away from some of the pellets. Good perks are Rangefinder (shots travel a bit faster when ADS) and Hip Fire (shots are grouped tighter when not ADS). I recommend you ADS unless you are at melee distance. Pull the stick down as the burst fires to negate the recoil. Wait for people to come to you rather than the other way around if you're just starting. Feather the trigger when enemies are around so that you can complete the charge cycle as soon as one appears, unless you are crouching and want to stealth. If you want to main a Fusion Rifle, use Pocket Infinity. There is no other better for that, really. Pair it with either a finisher (The Devil You Know with Single Point Sling is probably the best) or something with longer range (Aries Nemesis X4 from the Crucible Quartermaster is beast at range). You want to focus on getting into 1v1s as with practice, you can win the grand majority of them. Eventually you'll learn what scenarios you can be sure you'll get a 1HKO, 2HKO or 3HKO and you'll waste less ammo. Whether you like Solar grenades or not, the reload speed buff from Sunbreakers is very useful. Pocket Infinity sets targets on fire for 25/50 DoT while in Radiance if you use Touch of Flame if you like niche builds. Infinity eats up ammo. A chest piece with Fusion Rifle Ammo+ is a must as this actually increases the amount you pick up from ammo crates; one of the Vendors sells one. The thing with Infinity is that it cannot kill multiple targets at one time unless they are hurt or directly adjacent to one another. If there are multiple enemies you kill the closest one or the one firing at you and you run in the opposite direction of the rest of them, preferably behind cover or to a different elevation as you reload. They'll usually chase you and you can do a 180 while you charge as soon as you reload and kill the rest as they approach. How well you do with it basically depends on how good you are at navigating the terrain to give you opportunities to reload and charge.

All the fusion rifles you have are good. I have the same ones you have, and all are pretty much confirmed kills if i land the shot. You just need to aim right for all the pellets to hit. Plan C has the fastest charge time, good for multiple opponents. My Light/Beware has the rangefinder perk, good for long ranges. Pocket infinity has auto fire, so its good for trailing strafers. Gauge the distance though. Fusions are lethal in close to medium range, practically useless in long range.

          • I have a wizard77 random drop with accelerated coils... killer in pvp... but I hate fusion rifles, I'm more a shotgun person... a few weeks ago I've encountered a guy who used the switch-ability on plan c with great efficiency.... he (warlock) blinked above people, switched mid-air and OHK everyone.... -blam!-er...

          • Pocket infinity every time! Seriously the gun is amazing. If I'm having a bad match it will always turn it around.

            • Pocket Infinity is the best fusion rifle with Plan C coming in 2nd. Pocket Infinity is very effective even at longer ranges because of the triple burst. Trust me, you go up against someone who has a good shot with the Pocket Infinity and you will almost never win in a short to long-mid range gunfights. I'm actually surprised there aren't more threads about this fusion rifle.

                • Most of them are OHK. You have to land the majority of bullets? and be in the proper range though.
