Excluding Oracles, every enemy in Destiny has a weak spot allowing critical damage to be dealt, every enemy except Minotaurs/Praetorians. Today we ask the question, why?
As it stands there is currently no strategy to effectively deal with them other than nuke them with rockets or rounds from a LMG
Feels more like an unintentional bug in my opinion. When attempting the raid on level 30 players able to aim precisely under pressure should be dealing additional damage.
(edit) Shanks also mysteriously lack a critical spot.

I say yes not because I think the game needs to be easier, but because I doesn't make much sense for them not to have one in my opinion. Every other enemy has a weak spot, and it makes sense that they do. If Vex as a whole didn't have weak spots, I'd be fine with that as well (although it would still be odd). If there was a lore based reason for the lack of weak spots I would accept that as well (i.e. Minotaurs aren't supposed to be like Goblins/Hobgoblins with their "brains" Minotaurs are designed as tanks, but even then it would be odd as even the Cyclops's have a weak spot).
-
Well I think the reason for the shanks not having weakspots is for the fact that they can die in one hit by almost literally ANY WEAPON. So it would be kinda pointless to give something a weakspot that's already, clearly, one of the weakest enemies in the game.

see i completed destiny in 2 and a half day's and tbh its too easy even when hard mode was added. i think they should make it harder as i am a fan of the souls series (demons souls and dark souls) i need more of a challange if i am to play this for more hours
-
Why.. why make anything easier?!?!? Am I off base here in thinking this is basically what is wrong with society as a whole lol.. If you can't do something at this point and time.. please modify it for your convenience? Sorry for the rant.. Just don't understand that logic. Keep em the way they are. They are meant to invoke " panic " and have your concentration geared towards them as they appear. I love the shout outs during a raid... " Oh, just harps.. "... Goblins.. meh.. " PRAT RIGHTSIDE!!!! Cover!!! H & D, backside Prat!".. Shit gets real when they appear :)

I'd be ok with a crit spot if they made them harder. Make that health regen bug an actual ability to where crit spots are the only way to damage it faster than it gets health back unless you're using special or heavy weapons. They are MEAN, and that is good. No other enemy teleports at me to the rhythm of my fusion rifle fire.

Makes them a threat which is good

11 RepliesThere are 5 simple steps to defeating a Minotaur/Praetorian. Dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge. Simple. Quit trying to make the game easier.
-
4 RepliesI would settle for them not health regen glitching....
-
3 RepliesIt doesnt make sense for Atheon to have a crit spot but minotaurs dont
-
It's bad enough the damned Minotaurs have shields! Yes they need a weakspot!
-
Wait, you didn't find their crit spot yet!?
yeah, me neither
-
I feel as if praetorians shouldn't but miniatures should, is that weird? Also shanks are just tiny robots, I wouldn't expect them to last long
-
They destroyed me in the daily story mission today... The one on Venus when you defend wave after wave of vex in the Complex 9 lab. Heroic meant more evil minotaur, both red and yellow health coming to destroy me :(
-
3 RepliesI think hot pockets should be nerfed. They're so -blam!-ing good. Om nom nom nom.
-
1 ReplyAtheon has a weak spot why not a patorian
-
Jesus get a 77 wizard and carry on
-
No. Otherwise there would be no point to fear them or to take them as seriously. I honestly hope in the future there are more enemies that don't have crit spots.
-
Shriekers lack a weakness too.
-
1 ReplyThe only problem I have with minotaurs/praetorians is them glitching and not taking damage, or regenerating their health back. If the BLAM!-ers would just keep the damage applied from the start I'd be fine with 'em. No I don't mean the shields. I mean the BLAM! yellow health bar.
-
Gjallahorn it. Just aim it in the area of whatever
-
Oracles actually have a de facto "weak" spot. If you start shooting them the second they spawn, they go down very quickly. But if you hesitate or are late getting to them, their health increases as you try to take them down and it takes a bit longer.
-
Don't nerf them. They are easy enough to kill as it is. Don't make them trivial with a critical hit location.
-
Maybe have it be those Their back or when you blow off their head but they should be harder to get a crit on, every enemy should have that type of more difficult to crit
-
2 RepliesNo, they are perfectly fine. If you are the same LVL or higher they go down in a few shots(that is with void damage). Also, they have the ability to be hit and not regen there sheild, which is pretty dang good in my opinion.
-
The do have a weakness. Shoot off their head and they can't regen shield.
-
Shanks critical damage is dealt with a melee, one swat and they go down
