Yeah, this happens on mars quite a bit. I did a post to bungie a week or so ago asking if it was a glitch or part of how the game is supposed to work.

Weekly update: We discovered a exploit where players where able to kill checkpoint gods. This is not how we intended the game to be played. We have given them all time warp abilities to put them 3min ahead of the player.

It seems like its a bit of both, i get having them teleport a little to make it challenging but they just do it constantly sometimes which makes it next to impossible to do unless you have 3 or more people. The one I described in the post was me and a level 16 but we didnt even get it to half since it was moving to fast to even really shoot.

Once, he went from spawn point, straight to final checkpoint, didn't pass go, didn't collect 200 tears.
