Why are 98% of all rare ships poop brown?
See title. A little color variation would be nice!
EDIT: The only two ships I have that do not fit the poop brown color scheme are 'Outrageous Fortune' and 'Crypt Hammer'. Both of which are PS exclusives. Which sucks for the XB1 folks I suppose.
2nd EDIT: It appears the new Dark Below "expansion"(LOL) has added some new ships. I have seen a couple of NEON GREEN ones as well as one with Superman colors. I think that brings the overall total of brown ships down to 95%~ give or take 2 percent.

I'm glad I got "crypt hammer". It's brown, but at least it is camouflage and not just a solid crap brown

I agree. We spent last generation with jokes like what I linked... and then next-gen hits and it's like no one learned anything. Or maybe Destiny devs are being tongue and cheek? Brown is not a good colour for a spaceship. Blue/orange complimentary colour scheme is nice and all (one of my faves) but it's overused in Destiny. Way over used.

1 ReplyI don't know - about 20% of the time I seem to get a lift to other planets by Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet. Never spoke to her, but can't see any means of transport onscreen, so I have to presume it's a car-pool type of help by Wonder Woman.

I really haven't been a fan of Destiny's art direction overall. Many of the ships are a gross brown and all the emblems are boring and drab(compared to previous Bungie game). Not sure if they were going for a bleak and drab pallet/design, but that's what we got. Just my $0.02.

Not like it matters. When I first got the game I was like "YES, THERE IS NO WAY THEYD MAKE 3 STORY MISSIONS ABOUT YOUR SHIP IF YOU DIDNT GET TO USE IT, HELLZ YEAH!!!" then I found out its just something that you look at instead of loading screens and my adventure into dissapointment, skimpy content, death fields, and invisible walls began.

1 ReplyOnce the DLC hits, we'll have the ability to paint our ships and sparrows so.. it'll be moot whatever a ships 'natural' color is. That is... if this upcoming DLC has That particular piece of code in it.... god I hope so. All my ships on all three of my characters are $#@& brown...

I think its the vex color scheme based off of the released raid. So hopefully in the future the rare ships will have alternate colors. Or you could wait until the dlc and use the new ship shader.
