I honestly think Crucible is a fun and exciting gamemode and think Bungie did well to make it as balanced as it is~
No one class is superior to another and no particular weapons are dominant over the others.
Along with level advantages disabled, the healthy radar system dissuades camping and promotes interactive gameplay.
All weapons have clear counterplay~ Dodge the bolts from the fusion rifle who precharges his shots before turning the corner, jump away from the nova bomb, shoot the Titan in the middle of his fist of havoc animation, outrange the suros with your pulse rifle, ignore the person who is lagging, exit immediately on first light and bastion, shotgun the enemy before he shotguns you, etc
I'd like to see what you guys think of the Crucible, since I see a lot of conflicting opinions on this wonderful forum~

I just think the maps create a fight that ends up the same everytime. Close quarters Balance is fine. Weapons and supers are fine More varied maps are needed

2 RepliesReally wish bungie would of made a horde mode instead. I'm not saying I'm not a fan of the crucible but in regards of the setting of destiny I feel guardians running around killing each other instead of battling the darkness is counter productive.
-
I just wish there were more maps, and CTF plzzzz
-
1 ReplyCrucible is broken terribly in its current form. That lag is terrible. Best 1v1 scenario is you both die. Needs a type without radar, supers, limited heavy weapons and very few and no starting secondary ammo. A ctf would be great too.

1 ReplyEdited by cerrudo33: 11/10/2014 12:21:11 AMIt is balanced and there in lies the problem Why raid or do anything to raise the stats on your items? None of it matters I'm sorry but don't bring mmo mechanics to a game and then equalize everything, iron banner and it's reception being a key indicator of what most people wanted! I want my legendary gun to rofl stomp sum1 coming in with blues otherwise why spend time getting more? So far that balance has been my biggest issue with destiny PVP (Editing to add that)... PVE is whole other set of issues

I hate how a level 6 can one shot a level 29 with a fusion rifle I find that absurd
-
I said I avoid because of the constant bugs and issues with the game. I have perfect internet and still have connection problems with the dedicated servers. And also the constant net code issue. Getting killed by the person you killed 10 seconds ago. Or being shot when around the corner. Even with the nerf to auto rifles the entire crucible is auto rifle dependent. They are the best and you still have over powered guns such as the suros, shotguns with their huge range, and fusion rifles with there one shorting capabilities from down a hall. Crucible is everything but balanced.

I said no, not because I'm a cry baby, but because I feel like there's still a little chaos in the mix. I try to play as my Warlock when I go into a match on my 360. I can get kills with the Doctor Nope, and I think I have the Void Light/Beware Fusion Rifle, and I have the Truth as my heavy. Yet, a level 10 can kill me in no time. =/ I know that normal PVP is balanced in the sense of "all players are on the same field/no limitations on armor and gear, etc." I get that. What I really dislike is that I have fully upgraded weapons and armor and I'm getting owned by a lower level person. =/ Other than that PVP is ok to me, and I play it on and off. To me PVE>PVP so I try to stick with PVE. ^_^

1 ReplyI'm not gonna hate, but I think there is more balancing that still needs to be done. In most multiplayer FPS games I can usually maintain a 1.0 K/D ratio. I would call myself GOOD, but I'm competent. I might get a .25 in Destiny. No matter what weapons I choose in the game, I always have to go back to auto rifles. They seem the most powerful. And my opinion on that is backed up by the fact that I see the vast majority of players using auto rifles to this day. Those need a nerf big time. Other than the auto rifles everything seems to be in place.

Post patch crucible is great. Before the patch was basically All autos and vex dominated once every I started cheesing Aetheon.
-
For what this game is I think it is pretty balanced. There are a few things off but once you learn how to deal with them they are not that bad.
-
Ok so if I don't think the game is balanced apparently I'm a cry baby, makes sense. In all honesty I think this game is incredibly balanced considering how many different factors their is in this game, but their is always going to be something thats better, even if just slightly, than everything else.

Mmm First Light and Bastion forever xD

1 ReplyObviously you are being satirical.
Dodge the bolts from the fusion rifle who precharges his shots before turning the corner, jump away from the nova bomb, shoot the Titan in the middle of his fist of havoc animation, outrange the suros with your pulse rifle, ignore the person who is lagging, exit immediately on first light and bastion, shotgun the enemy before he shotguns you, etc
Well played. I lol'd.
-
But last week Suros Regime was op. Now everything is balanced. Ok.
-
I don't play that much even though I'm not too bad at it. Thank years of playing halo for that. It's pretty balanced. Anybody can play as any character and have access to majority of the guns so you make your own fate.
-
Apart from fusion rifles I think it's balanced
-
Your post is biased. And crucible isn't for every one to have fun. I've had games where I've done really well but kept dying to bullshit and I wasn't happy I'm a great pvp-er I go undefeated in rumble regularly but people just suck in this game. And I can't have fun in teams games with trash players. And winning rumbles isn't rewarding if I'm playing brainded afkers
-
No matter how much crucible i play I never enjoy it.. Often coming in second in most matches too. Only doing it for the points.
-
Yes it's soooo balanced! /sarcasm
-
Yes minue the fusion rifles . Needs a nerf on range or power. Orher then that its fine ppl r just shit
-
1 ReplyMy only complaint about the crucible is that there is too much special ammo..
-
2 RepliesHa! Tongue in cheek satire. I like it.
-
It's cool, except when you get shit players and you get half of the points that the entire team managed to get. Ex: 7000 points you get 3500. Seriously it's fun, but man why even try You can get a legendary engram or exotic from doing bad also.
-
3 RepliesIt's easy to think its balanced when you roll with a shotgun. Crucible has degraded itself down to fusion rifles and shotguns....it's kind of weak.
-
5 RepliesWorst PvP Ever.. ....EVER. Yes, even worse than the "franchise we do not speak of".
