Deej! this is how you deal with quitters!

Blizzard has come up with a new plan to deal with players who rage quit or leave in matches. They will at first be flagged for their behavior, then, if it continues be put into a special matchmaking branch with players who leave like them! I think this is genius and I would love this for events like iron banner and raids! Deej what do you think???

Interesting idea for sure. I do know that our designers hesitate to segment the community too much. Sadly, quitters will always let you down. My old shooter clan was founded on the idea "Everyone fights. No one quits." Using this forum to solicit brave allies can help.

    • I don't know if reporting someone actually does anything but I think that players who are reported for similar reasons, positive or negative, should be paired with each other. I'm not sure that's a full proof system though tbh.

Great idea in theory. The immediate problem with this is those put on the naughty list due to escaped zoo animals running amok on the servers. And while this isn't BLAM-ing WOW, there are a lot of great ideas there that would be great if implemented correctly.

      • There has to be a way to differentiate between people who quit and people who get disconnected by a technical issue, otherwise it'll punish people who aren't doing anything wrong.

      • So how can you tell who quits or who has a suprise meeting with the Bungie zoo. I never quit a strike or pvp game but been sent to orbit a lot of times .. more and more for every -blam!-ing patch Bungie sends out.. and -blam!- no .its NOT on my end the trouble is regardless of what Bungie says.

Ok ___clown I can't stand arrogant people like you When I quit it's often because my infant wakes up and needs to be fed or changed. I quit so I don't go AFK and take rewards that I haven't earned Sorry but some of us have lives outside of a GAME operative word there is GAME nothing bad will happen to you get the hint it's not serious.

          • What if you have to leave for reasons that aren't "being mad". Should one be punished if they get a phone call? Should one be punished because a friend invited them? Should one be punished because their kid is crying? People are so short sighted. Real life exists, and there's no pausing in online play.

            • What if you quit once because you don't have all day for gaming and have to get off eventually? And what if you get disconnected? You'll be stuck with quitters forever, as they will quit, forcing you to quit because you are alone. But I do think those that don't quit should have a higher odds of being matched up with those that don't quit.

            • You can't tell when someone rage quits most of the time. You also can't punish them for being mad, maybe they just had a bad day.

              • Rage quitters are way less hassle than the d-bags who don't ever join the action but also don't leave. I believe there is a degree of scaling in enemies to the number of players present, so the fartsack who DOESNT quit but also doesn't help not only gets rewards for nothing, but also makes it harder/longer for the remainder to do the strike. These are the people that need a "forced to play in traffic" mode

              • If a player rage quits a certain number of times in thirty minute span then I would be totally for this. Sometimes having to leave a game right now is unavoidable.

              • the system should be able to Tell the difference between someone who gets lagged or booted out. versus that same person Holding Down the button to Quit the match..... pretty simple actually....

                • You can always have a counter where if they leave 3 matches in a row or 5, whatever number is acceptable, then they they cannot join a game for 10-30 minutes (timer up for debate). And obviously theyll just leave 1 game complete the next game then leave the 3rd game, so to deal with that you just make a requirement for completing 3 matches in a row to wipe their rage quit count. You can also give them a little symbol on their heads when they go to the tower saying "Rage quitter" while they are in the 30 minute timeout penalty. Huehuehue.

They did that with GTA V online. Mostly it made the Dunce Hat popular. It wasn't until they started hitting the bank account that stopped player car destroying, and that's just barely. Then all that did was really remove the main reasons why GTA IV players loved Rockstar in the first place. But I digress. Perhaps Bungie should consider a NPC enforcer. Take Warframe. Kill a boss and you get the Stalker. A Boss that hunts and kills you on random missions. Perhaps a NPC level 30 boss like the "Target Minotaur" pops on a map and just chases you down to capture a weapon or something from your inventory. To get it back you have to take a bounty quest. You never know when it's going to hit. But it will register a bounty on you if you stay inactive for so long in team oriented game modes.
