When I started Destiny, I didn't see much difference from playing Halo. Then, I really started getting into it once i jumped on the "The game really starts once you hit Level 20."
I was expecting this big outer space adventure to defeat a common evil, with huge explorable alien terrain and definitely something more than a 3-person fireteam. In spite of my surreal expectations, what we really get after Level 20 is a grind for Light items, then having to bow at the mercy of RNGesus as I have to run 15+ strikes a day on top of Weeklies desperately hoping for better gear.
I challenge the DLC. Is there anything new that it has got to offer, besides MORE raid/strike grinding and MORE maps to be shotgun-spammed in? No matter the argument against that question, it all dulls down to "more story, more raids, more gear, more weapons, more pvp maps."
Sure, this game may be that simple so it can pertain to a younger audience of gamers (Its nice to see that Activision cares about that, but at this point it just means more children asking their parents for $95 to buy Destiny and its 2 DLCs, and in turn, more money from a wider span of kid gamers whose parents wont deny them their precious Destiny because of a M Rating), but I'd happily pay another $60 for a DLC that would at least live up to one of my expectations. Galactic and/or Sparrow Racing, Space Adventure, Planetary Adventure, you know, stuff that people who dont want to grind or pvp can be bothered doing. Because how awesome would it sound to explore Destiny space and discovering small things with destinys awesome soundtrack playing?

My Road To Destiny's Release Alpah - OH Shit! The mechanics are AWESOME, cool looking characters could use more options. Cant wait to play more. Beta - Oh, the game plays well, the moon is unlocked. Why is nobody talking? Launch - WTF! This is the same shit I played. Wait we can't talk at all.

Destiny is essentially an MMO, and MMOs always involve some sort of grinding. You aren't forced to do it, you just won't level up after a certain point if you choose not to. Destiny can't be everything to everyone, but if you're disappointed in what you're experienced, remember that you aren't being held hostage and made to play it, and you can always take a break and play something else.

I get what you're saying here, a sort of "don't play it if you don't like it" attitude, and in some ways I agree with you. But, the reality of the situation is that most of us paid $60 for this game, and expected a lot to come of it, now we got a partial game, and DLC that was supposed to be in the original release and we have to pay extra for original content. I've never played any game the way I play Destiny, I mean I have logged some serious time in the game, because to be honest I love playing it, I finally got a bunch of raid gear last night, and the excitement was real. That being said, now I feel like I've done it all, and is DLC really gonna fill that void for everyone?

Well, I feel like I got a robust game worth my $60, so all of this is subjective. I'm still enjoying my time with the game, but I'm taking this month off from Destiny and returning when the expansion drops, to avoid burning myself out. Plus I got a bunch of other games waiting to be played.
