500 Void Kills for Thorn(on Crucible)

so here's the thing. I SUCK AT CRUCIBLE! But need to get 500 points with Void damage and every kill is +5 points and every death is -2 points...so any tips on how I can overcome my shittyness of crucible to actually get it? and what type of guns(with void) should I use? and what's easiest crucible game mode is the best way to get it. thanks for all the help in advance:)

I waited until i got atheons epilogue then went and did it easy. You dont even need a positive k/d.

You could do it in an hour, if your good. but if your finding it slow don't fret. As long as your making some progress that's fine. Take your take, try and end a session with 100-200 points more then when you started then take a break and do something else. Don't make it into a chore, just enjoy it. If you are playing with a group of randoms, stick with someone , don't roam around alone. I found control good because it's more predictable where people will be, but also where you get more group battles , in clash you will often find yourself 1 on 1 . If your not comfortable 1 on 1 go for control and stay with group.

  • Void shotgun from vanguard vendor, sticky void grenades and void melee, it was a pain but I did it.

  • I'm terrible and even I got it done. Hide in corners with void fusion rifle.

  • I used a sniper and stayed at the back. One round I got 21 kills and no deaths, it's probably the most effective way I can think of. Good luck.

  • Just finished this yesterday...felt good to get it done. I read another post where some said the last half is way easier than the first half... i found this to be true... i was up and down initially, even back down to zero... then i got the comedian shotty and had the swarm lmg...destroy!!

    • Buy a crappy green shotgun with void damage, maximise your agility, play like a douchebag and succeed.

    • On my Titan defender I use atheons epilogue, comedian shotgun and the swarm lmg. All void with void grenades gets the job done quickly. Maps are random so you won't get a choice, if you're really bad just corner camp and learn to she the radar well.

    • Don't know what you're playing as, if titan, use defender, and I suggest use the sticky grenade, if a warlock, use void walker of course, if hunter, good luck, but I did it on my hunter. Weapons Atheon's epilogue, only primary that does void damage, so good bet. Void shotgun or fusion rifle, which would you prefer, on my hunter a void shotgun is what did almost all the work for me, though a void sniper is viable, especially if playing on control, I'll get to that in a moment. Lastly any heavy with void, Truth, corrective measure, and a zombie apoc if it has void are likely the best ones, truth is excellent in pvp, A MG might be able to get more kills, but truth is a lot easier to use if upgraded to have both special perks. Playlist Rumble: Why this, cause everyone is a target, and it leads to a lot of one on ones, or situations you might be able to mow down two weakend opponents fighting each other. Maps are smaller and most people go to shotgun, so even less skilled players have good chances when going shotgun to shotgun. Strategy: Camp like hell, crouch move, if you don't have a void grenade, then use grenades first, watch your radar, camp near a door, just before they come through, toss grenade, on my hunter I used my blade dancer with the arcbolt, very reliable in taking down their white bar, giving me an advantage. Your goal, k/d of one to one, if you can acheive this then you'll come out +3 in points each time, your goal is not to win. If you're not using novabomb, then only use super as last resort, the kills from it won't do anything for you, the exception being dawnwalker, excellent when paired with a shotty. Don't try to play fair, be as cheap as hell. Control: This is another good one, why, cause enemies are always streaming towards points they don't have, point B in particular, downside is the team mecanic, it can help, but it can also steal kills and you can be ganged up on, why I recomend rumble, but some nice strategies do come into play. Strategy: Don't try and capture points, you're going for kills, so you should never actually enter a control point. No, you want to sit outside of a point and shoot those heading to it or those in it, B is the most popular one on any map. This is where a sniper can come in real handy, cause you can sit back a long ways and pop them off, for example, point b on mt, mons, the venus map, you can sit over by point c and snipe into b. The rest of the principles listed above are still valid, camp, be cheap, aim of 1-1 if not better. Steal kills from teamates. I used this strategy when going for the plus 25 for invective, I did that in two games, the second one on firebase delphi, I sat in that little corner halway by point b and the one room with special and heavy ammo spawns, got a merciless, and I barely average over a 1.0 k/d, so if I can use these strategies then so can you As I said, I recommend rumble, its what I used, I was hunter and my only void was a blue shotgun and zombie apoc with void and I got it.

    • Make sure your entire loadout does void damage ( Atheons epilogue AR recommended )... If your not good at PVP I guess as long as u get one kill per death it's still gonna go up...

    • I thought it was 500 points and each kill counts as 5 points? I used Atheons epilogue and had it in less than an hour

    • I'm also not great and being forced to a weapon style I struggled with was frustrating at times. Took me 2 days on and off. I actually got quite a few in a fireteam of three in skirmish but the rest in control. I like that as you know paths people are taking more. I found myself playing very carefully, flankin as much as I could and I rocked a fusion rifle. Recently got the epilogue which would have made this loads easier haha. Good luck, and enjoy ;)

    • Im on this bounty at the moment too. Use defender sub class (i see you are a titan) this has void grenades, and i think the melee gives you void damage. Im using a fusion rifle and heavy machine gun with void damage.

      • Looking at your gear, you got the right toys on (read as void weapons) I found a void fusion > void shottie for mine. Also, may not be correct, but I believe that Defender's melee is Void dmg too? As a fellow "suck at crucible", 1 - 200 took as long as 201-500. Play cautious, and never be anywhere without a fellow green blip on the radar. I did this in Control exclusively.

      • Ok, play control and hang on the outskirts of point B. Use a void fusion rifle, and Atheons epilogue/corrective measure if you have them. If you are a voidwalker this also helps. Control is good because people will stand relatively still while capturing a point, so you can hide round a corner then burst out and zap them

        • Switch to defender and spam grenades and melee also use a shotgun or fusion rifle with a mg. I'm recommending an mg because you'll probably get more kills with that than a launcher.

        • I can sympathise as I suck at crucible too and it took me around 20 matches to complete this part of the bounty. However, I got better as i went on and thought more about what I was doing. Here was my strategy: 1. Use defender titan subclass. This means that your grenade and melee kills count toward the void kills. 2. Use a void fusion rifle and rocket launcher. 3. Use armarmentarium (if you have it) as it allows use of two grenades 4. Use the fusion rifle as your main weapon. Close range it is a one hit kill. For longer ranges, just use an auto rifle (helps keep positive k/d) 5. Play control and learn the entry points to the capture points, so you can tell where the choke points are. Don't try to actually capture the points, but just stay near them. 6. Crouching is your friend! This makes you disappear from the mini map for a time, so the enemy won't be able to know where you are. 7. Try to stay near to people on your team. You will get more opportunities to outnumber the opponent, and a better chance of staying alive. 8. Take it slow and steady. I have a low number of kills per game, and didn't engage in a firefight unless I was confident of winning. 9. I got quite a few kills from the overshield that you get from defender ward of dawn. This helps you to win melee battles. Good luck guardian!
