I don't get why there is facial customization at all if the only place you can see it is in the tower, where most of your friends aren't with you anyway. I figured this was going to be in the game when I first started making my character.

It's the Skyrim syndrome. Spend an hour customizing your character, where a helmet the rest of the game lol.

Yeah basically, I get why you might need to wear one (for story reasons) but it doesn't make any sense why you don't have the option to toggle it on and off. Heck I'd support not having the armor or ability benefits if you do toggle it off, just so it was an option.
