Is the Witcher series any good? The vids for Witcher3 have me super interested but I don't wanna play the first two. Is this a direct carry on or a good place to jump in

Fine place to jump in. Check out steam during the winter, I'm sure witcher 1 and 2 will be on sale if you want to catch up on the background info.

Yes. The inventory system and general UI (in 2 at least) is absolutely horrible, but the game is amazing. I let the UI put me off the game originally, and I ended up waiting nearly 2 years before playing it again. I nearly missed out on one of the best games I've played.
