Serious question: I'll be playing the raid for the first time Sunday night and for weapons all I have are
Primary: Suros regime, shadow price, lord high fixer, a1947394
Secondary: patience and time, bunch of blues
Heavy: the swarm, unfriendly giant
My question is: Will getting Truth help me out at all in the raid or should I save my coins?

Save them. My swarm does just fine.

Yes! Truth has pretty much saved my ass so many times in a raid with the proximity explosion and aggressive seeking. The void damage does work on the praetorians too

Truth is an excellent choice for taking out praetorians

In my opinion, dont get the truth. Yes it is void, but it you are better to get a void machine gun for the praetorians. You have a better chance getting Corrective Measure, the void machine gun you get from the raid, and you will be fine with that. Never fill up your heavy with an exotic, but the only exception is the gjallarhorn.

Make sure you have a Void weapon to use against Praetorians

I have truth and it puts in work on pretorians on hard mode someone in the raid has to have a RL for that burst damage it helps out a lot I never both truth I found mine in an engram

Easy answer: yes.

It will only be of actual help with getting into the vault. Once you are inside you will want a heavy machine gun. Rocket launchers have way too high of a chance for killing the user while in the vault.

I use a fully upgraded Truth in the VoG Raid. It absolutely SMASHES Praetorians. I highly recommend it. Best rocket launcher in the game next to Ghallajorn (don't have one), in my opinion.

Truth is the only exotic that does void damage, it's definitely worth it for Praetorians / Minotaurs as they have void shields. Just be very careful with the proximity detonation as it can kill you if it explodes too early due to its huge blast radius.

I had a unfriendly giant that had void damage.

During the part where you burn atheon (5x damage buff) truth does about 40000 damage per rocket (carries 7 rockets so a total of 280000 damage) nuff said (I don't even have it fully upgraded yet)

How do you use it effectively without blowing yourself up in the shield?

you have to jump and shoot the rockets (when in the shield)

The relic shield is one way so I can shoot out. It takes patience and time (pun intended)

You can double jump out for the bubble, shoot, repeat. Or even shoot before the portal team comes through when the buff is active

This ^^^ if going to use a rocket launcher you need to learn to jump shoot
