From what I have seen, and I know this does not include every single one of them, these players like to trash talk on forum and boast that they're level 30. I get it, you reached the level cap. Congrats. However, I disagree on their explanation of "skill". From my own experience, I have continually seen the correlation between RNG raid gear drops and skill in an argument. This does not make sense to me.
Some players have gotten full raid gear in 1 to 2 weeks because of RNG luck. Now, that does not mean they don't have the necessary skill to complete a full raid session. You need experience, time, strategy(whatever is left of it), and team solidarity. That is what I consider skill in a PvE aspect. However, none of that is factored in the drops you receive. That is left to RNG. Just because you have gotten full raid gear within a week or two, whether or not via copies of of the same class(which is smart), does not make you skilled. Some players have level 30 characters, and still need to be carried in a raid, as seen by level 29's and lower in posts here in the forums. You as the player generate skill, not the number next to your gamer tag.
Sure, some of you are going to say I am complaining. You're completely right, I am. Some of these people are just trolls. Bad ones most of the time. But sometimes I feel like the way they are arguing is beyond troll, and more in the territory of actual ignorance and elitism. I am not entirely sure what goes on with these people, but it is pretty sad.
As far as PvP goes, that is another story. In PvP, you can actually do very well and it'll show. Despite PvP's shortcomings, skill is still factored in. Such things as points per match, kills and deaths, wins and losses, and overall efficiency are factored into skill. But as for PvE? Just stop. Have a nice day everyone.
Edit: Title made the impression I was in defensive mode about not being a level 30 and lumping all of them in one group.
Edit: Paragraphs to lighten the burden on your eyezzz.
Edit: I am very pleased to see all the positive responses and additional comments. I'm seeing way less negative comments such as "git gud", "shut up Meg", and other lame insults. I thank you guys for a good thread and for participating. Keep it up.

1 ReplyLevel has never and will never be a reflection of skill. In this game it's a reflection of luck.
-
1 ReplyLevel does not reflect skill in any way. You are 100% correct here. But pvp does not entirely show skill either but it's a much more accurate base then pve. In my case I'm much better in pve then I am in pvp (granted I finally figured out what I was doing wrong and I'm improving) but to all the Lil 12 your Olds who think they dominate solely based on their level are stupid and immature. I have 2 characters that took about 3-4 weeks to get full raid sets and another that hasn't gotten one piece in over a month rng hates my titan. And I'm consistently the top player with kills in the raid.while I have a buddy who made a titan and got full raid gear in 11 hours play time from creation :(

3 RepliesThere is no skill needed to play destiny to be frank it's all about luck. RNG it sucks plain and simple. We just have to keep raiding and get lucky like all the other level 30's.
-
6 RepliesMy lvl 30 is better than your lvl 30.

7 RepliesI'm a level 30 and didn't find your post worthy of me reading it, loser...😒

1 Reply30 = skill plain and simple. Earners > RNGers
-
1 ReplyIt takes a lot is skill to not kill yourself after being screwed week after week of carp rewards

It's about damage both incoming and outgoing, makes huge difference on hard especially with relic

4 RepliesThis is completely true ive been level 30 for a while now like most players but ive noticed the first time we actully ran through the entire hard raid without wiping we had 2 30s and 4 29s... i was amazed

19 RepliesEdited by StellerSandwich: 11/9/2014 3:19:15 AMI'm lvl 30 and I think people make to big of a deal about it, I've done the raid all the way from 28, raid gear doesn't mean you're invincible, and it doesn't mean you can go out guns blazin in the raid, all it means is you got lucky.

1 ReplyLaw of numbers brother don't have a piece make a character of the same class level him and do the raid 4 times a week instead of 2. I couldn't get shoulders to drop after a month of doing hard mode so I made a second titan the next week the shoulders and helm dropped for me so I deleted the titan. Law of numbers sir just my opinion.

1 ReplyLuck. Three 30s.

1 ReplyI'm a level 29 lifer.... praise RNGesus
-
2 RepliesI feel the same way about people who say that they somehow deserve their exotic more because they "earned it" (and by earned it, I mean had it randomly drop for them via RNG) vs. me buying the exotic with strange coins that I got from the weekly.
-
2 RepliesHas nothing to do with skill. It's all about luck and how many times you attempt something to increase said luck. The ones that say it is skill are ones that probably believe they have Huge dicks and video games get them girls

1 ReplyI'm level 30 but still need the chest :(

4 RepliesEdited by StiviX: 11/9/2014 1:47:16 AMOnly reason I'm not 30 yet is I no longer have time to raid and grab the arm piece. That being said, I'd still whoop on any level 30s ass.

5 RepliesMultiplayer doesn't take skill when half the people are running around with a shotgun or fusion rifle.
-
1 ReplyLol at the people who got lucky their first few times and still get picked up by my brother who is a lvl 28. It all comes down to knowing your character and what they can and cannot do. The lvl 30 thinks he can be a bullet sponge and rushes out. Tisk tisk

1 ReplyEdited by Dotfilled: 11/9/2014 4:45:58 AMYou're right my friend did it 2 time got the full raid gear
-
1 ReplyAt first it took me a long time to get one piece of raid gear. My brother was able to get 2 pieces before me. Then last week I got 2 in one session and then 1 in hard mode. And what's weird about it is that the gear is set up how I wanted it to.
