Okay so first off why? Why are you taking developers away from a game that still needs work? This game has NO story. Obviously the story was cut up for DLC later but thats not the issue now whats going on now is SEVERLY pissing me off. You are taking developers away from the game to work on a sequel when you couldnt get the first game right. Let me explain.
1. Crashes, yes you have been patching them however every time you patch one "error code" a new one pops up.
2. Weapons, you promised to buff Bad Juju and Thorn. Still dont see it yet however you can nerf auto rifles and shotguns and buff scout rifles. Why dont you have the time to buff 2 guns? You dont have the time to do that but yet you can already start developing a sequel? I know you are under contract to release 4 for activisions sake but come on!! At least get #1 right before working on #2
3. In game chat. How do you not start with this? Yes some players are assholes but theres a thing called a mute button
4. Your current story sucks, lacks effort, and lacks content. Yes i know you are releasing expansions. However make a good story first then feed us more. If i hadnt already bought the expansion pass when i started playing i would have never even considered it.
5. There are more inviso barriers in obvious open "slots" i understand if you dont want players sniping through a hole in a wall. My advice, DONT PUT A HOLE THERE you could easily retexture the wall to make ACTUAL sense instead of having an obvious opening thats a barrier.
6. Lack of diversity in multiplayer. You have only 4 base gametypes... WHY!! Cod has like 10, halo has more diversity than i can count (mainly due to custom games), battlefield has like 10. Destiny? 4 will do. You want more diversity? Wait till the weekend for more diversity aka 1 gametype out of 3 so what you have 7 and 3 only show up in groups of 1 on the weekend ?
Yes you should should get a head start on the sequel but if the head start interferes with a game that needs work then you are counter productive and will ultimately just leave this the same. Piss players off and have Destiny "2" written off by fans.

Hey dumb ass this is common practice for all game developers, nothing new here.

While it was obvious that another game would come out within the next four years, to announce that you are already working on the next instalment to the 'franchise' when the first game is only two months old whilst being 'broken' and incomplete is a slap in the face to us who are unsatisfied with our purchase. I understand that the people working on the next instalment at this point in time are not the same people who are currently 'working' on the current game, but why not support your first chapter in your franchise for a couple of years before announcing the next game? This is shockingly bad customer service. Next full game? Where was the first one? We've been given barely a third of the game that was promised to us, if this game had any other studio on the cover I'm 100% sure that there would be less support and love for it.

1 ReplySo they'll take all our suggestions for improvements and develop Destiny 2, and we'll have to pay another 60 bucks for it. Right.
-
Destiny 2 made from the scenes that were cut from destiny 1
-
That moment when they try to make a console mmo then start work on the next game 3 months after launch, ten year plan is just gonna end up with us getting destiny 10 in 2024, this seriously has to be one of the worst games I've played in a long time
-
10 RepliesDid you know that Microsoft and Sony are already working on their next consoles? "But they need everybody to keep improving the XB1 and PS4!" No, they don't. Companies in this industry always have teams paving the way on future projects, we knew about Destiny 4 before Destiny 1 launched on September 9th, 2014. We all acknowledge the fact that Destiny 1 has flaws, major flaws, but then people throw up flags when they hear that they're getting a (standard procedure) head start on development of the next installment? I don't think we should go off on a witch hunt over this, we should be glad Destiny 2 is going to have a decent length dev cycle, supplemented by all the feedback on the first installment of the franchise.

I heard they are working on a story, it's a bout a Fallen Captain who doesn't care for weapons and fighting and wants to become a pro purple ball player. Devs are creating purple ball courts in the Tower, and we'll get to hang out with this Captain. Awesome!

9 Replies"Development" at this stage very likely consists of planning meetings and maybe some concept art. Nothing more.
-
1 ReplyI will be playing George McFly's version: "Density"
-
1 ReplyThe pre production teams are not the people who do bug fixing and DLC content. Idiot.
-
Why?? Oh, maybe because every studio ever thats planning to release sequels does it. "Planning" at this stage is the early beginnings of a development... Concept art and shit. It'll still be another 2 years at least before it comes out, at LEAST let bungie learn from their mistakes this time around BEFORE bashing them about it. If you don't like it, its you're -blam!-ing problem. Get over it man. The game can be improved with a sequel more so than it can with a million updates and dlcs. Even though they don't respond to 99.99999% of posts, they do have ppl reading them. A sequel can help, patches and dlcs won't, they'll just add to the amount of storage they take up on your console. They can learn from the past and make changes accordingly. Like I said, every studio ever starts on their next big project after the last one releases. Either like it or get over it.

Yea would kinda make sense when the cat's away, the mice will play Not too sure though if destiny2 will receive a warm reception if current Problems are not fixed soon So Bungie/Activision if you expect your Customer to shell out cash like that you really need to Fix the Current Destiny with Story, Clan Functionality, trade and all the other constructive Feedback and do not listen to nerfscreamers and other whiners I and probably alot of others will likely not preorder a Destiny2 or buy anykind of DLC otherwise http://youtu.be/Y36BNErhu8I

5 RepliesHOW did PEOPLE NOT know this when they read EVERYthing about Destiny, its a 10yr plan!?! They seriously thought Destiny 1 would last for 10years when it was written in black and white BEFORE they even BOUGHT DESTINY 1,( its a 10yr plan, a sequel will be made ever second year with DLC to fill you in during the year, PENDING ITS SUCCESS.) You like Destiny YOU BOUGHT Destiny, its a plan already written in stone, THIS IS WHAT U GET (+ DLC) and 3.2MILLION bought it, Activisions given the green light for a sequel, because well... people are still playing it. If it was a realy bad game it would have sold its copies and failed and Activision would've pulled the plug, but it didnt, people are still playing it, no matter how crappy or how much u want the game to improve, people are still playing it for what it is, and its enough for Activision to make there money back on Destiny 2. So quit complaining u either like the game or you don't, there going to churn out this shit aslong as they have the numbers to buy it

4 RepliesI preordered this game a year ago. still waiting for it to launch Destiny Gameplay Revealed - E3 2013 Sony Conferen…: http://youtu.be/WBNdrJMwrkc
-
1 ReplyI have to say I really do like this game. But if they are going to make me buy a new game every year or 2 plus DLC, I don't think I'm going to stick around for the long haul. It's just to much money. I have the tough decision now to either hang on to this game for a little longer or trade it in for Halo:MC next week.
-
3 Repliesapparently they were done with the dlc before the game was released, what else do they have left to work on? lmao they cant get anymore money from fixing destiny's bugs so they just said screw it
-
1 ReplyI'm pretty sure they have a big enough team to work on both.
-
4 RepliesSince Activision has a ten year plan for the Destiny franchise and four full prized games are planned, it seems very reasonable to me to expect a "new" game every two years. If this is good or bad is another question. I see the lack of story content, but the game still is so much fun to me and I have still some trust in Bungie, that they will fix the story issues in the upcomining expansions and full price games. Nethertheless I assume, that I will take a break from destiny when the Master Chief Collection and Dragon Age Inquisition hits the stores, but I will definitely return to Destiny after playing these two :D.
-
They finished most of the extra content that will be released over the next few months but are slowly releasing them. Just so they can work on and release their next game faster while still trying to keep the old one alive. Gaming is an industry now. No passion or love for stories just money.

Edited by BFBulletMagnet: 11/6/2014 8:41:16 AMYou do realize there would be teams delegated to different aspects of the series. You would have a writing team starting with a story line and direction. Then a separate team doing art work and another team doing models. Then a team after that putting together music and so on, you get the idea. After the game is finished its then passed on to a support team that monitors and fixes problems implements upgrades and so on. The support team on the current game will not stop what they are doing. But those beginning stage teams are now working on the next project. A guy who is paid to paint rocks and make them look like real rocks isn't going to fix the teleport problem in the vault he probably wouldn't know how. This is a assembly line process it was invented by Henry Ford and has been used successfully by company's for over 100 years. Not trying to excuse the fact you seem to be unhappy with the current product just pointing out that it is not being dropped and ignored to make a new one. These teams have done the job they have set out to do and are moving to the next project. Just imagine they spend 10 years designing a car and release it, the guy who spent countless hours in front of a screen designing its body lines isn't going to go back and fix anything because the alternator is failing early. No he's now designing the model coming out in 5 years. There is a whole separate division looking into why that alternator is failing. sometimes they find a fix in days other times it takes years but the first design crew never looks back. Just keeps moving forward on the next new car.

Edited by Supared: 11/6/2014 8:37:59 AMWhy the hell is everyone pissed about this? They aren't working on 2 nearly full force. They're still going to fix stuff in destiny. They just announced they've started on Destiny two, it's not a big deal because they said there would be a sequel. Before the original even came out they said that, so why is it a surprise? Man, you people will complain about -blam!-ing anything.
-
How much of a shit storm would there be if the cut story appears over 4 games in the next 10 years?
-
1 ReplyAlready in development? What the hell. So maybe my prediction of a new full game every 2 years could be wrong. So many issues with destiny 1 and they seem to have said -blam!- it, and devoted their team to making destiny 2... I find it funny how they dupe people into spending their money all the time, essentially paying a subscription monthly, but pump out little content compared to mmos with a subscription, or, even ones that are f2p!
-
You know what they say. If it isn't fixed, then NERF it and move on to the next.
-
3 RepliesDestiny doesn't need 450 developers to fix it. What do you expect them all to do? Sit around smelling each other's toes?
