Is the Thorn Bounty Really That Hard?
I just got it today and after my first game for the pvp part i was already at 56 out of 500
*Edit thanks for all the replies. I always read on here how people keep abandoning it. It wasn't hard at all. I completed the whole bounty in about 4 1/2 hours.

Those 3 witches at the last wave in the second room while Dinklebot opens the door was the hardest part to me. Everything else seemed pretty straight-forward. Thank God for maxed-out ice breakers.

Edited by InstaGood: 11/7/2014 4:11:32 AMThe PvP part was mildly annoying but not hard per se. I had to use a set of weapons I didn't really like to get it done. This made it a bit more difficult than it would have been had I been able to use my favourite weapon set. But really, in the end... you only need to maintain a .5 K/D ratio to complete it. So, it's not hard but I could see it being frustrating for people who aren't that great at PvP.

1 ReplyI didn't have any trouble with it and didn't really find it hard, but could understand how it is for people who aren't good at PvP. Disappointed with the gun though.

1 ReplyI hated the pvp part of the bounty mainly because of the Void requirement. Did not have any decent weapons with void dmg. Came on these forums and saw some tips. Completed last weekend. And like someone else said, it helped to improve my pvp approach. I could not use the strategy of holding back. I stuck with at least one player. Did not rush to my death. Followed or hunted people. Even ending up coming in 1st place a few times for the first time ever in any multiplayer. I do not like competitive mp. Just do not get frustrated and take a break if you start doing poorly. Also, identify the maps that fit your approach and do those only until you get it.

6 RepliesNone of the Exotic bounties have taken me more than a session or two, except this one for the Pocket Infinity. In a week I've found 4/10 Fusion Rifles I need just to get to the real part of the bounty. RNG, SMD.

No its not that bad players just don't want to go to pvp or have to try to get there bounty done it's one of the harder ones in my opinion but I think that makes it one of the best bounties also

just means your better at pvp than some are. some people dont like pvp, some do. so yeah - to some people, it really is that hard. problem with the exotic bounties, is they are inconsistent. some require crucible content, and some dont. some steps that are pve orientated are much easier than others. e.g. the exotic bounty for the machine gin, i completed within an hour. from start to finish. that was far too easy. where for the thorn, the last step is actually rather challenging. so yeah - if your not a crucible fan, it really is that hard.

To be honest the only hard part is void damage. I got an uncommon void fusion rifle and used it and it wrecked. It is just getting a void weapon is the only hard part after that it's easy

I used Atheon's Epilogue, Praedyth's Revenge, and Corrective Measure (all 3 do void damage). It took me about 2 hours to finish the 500 points. Then I just soloed Xyor

Got is as well, the only difficult part is when you start getting good progression and then then there is a few bad games making it slow but it is actually easy if you get the hang of it. Oh and the Crucible marks you get isn't bad.
