How did Kabr open the Vault?
The VoG Grimoire card says a Guardian named Kabr opened the Vault himself before perishing inside. But how did he open it himself?

for -blam!-'s sake DeeJ, put the grimoire cards into the game's character menu. FOR -blam!-"S SAKE! just for the heck of it. Do it... and we will all be able to understand the story line better. FOR -blam!-"S SAKE. next time you -blam!- your gf ( if you have one )think of this... that for -blam!-'s sake you ought to insert grimoire cards into the game, if you can't make comic strip animations to explain the races, the lore. etc

9 RepliesEdited by x_8-BitZombie_x: 11/10/2014 5:04:28 PMKabr didn't open the vault alone; the theory is that his fire team succumb to the oracles and were wiped out of existence, so even when he struggles to remember them he can't and decides he was alone even though he knows it wasn't possible. Kabr also didn't die in the vault, if he died alone and without his ghost in the vault how could anyone know his last words. It's obvious that he made it out of the vault and slowly went insane while trying to figure out what happened; seeing him go insane was what prompted the creation of Super Good Advice.

I could write you an essay on this but I will try to be brief, I believe the VoG is a predestination paradox, otherwise known as a causality loop. Atheon is time's conflux, a conflux is a focal point at which things (in this case time)flow through and come together, from the grimoire we know that "In the Vault time frays and a needle moves through it. The needle is the will of Atheon."Therefore time converges on Atheon, allowing the past, present and future to exist simultaneously at the same point in space effectively merging (otherwise known as a confluence or conflux). Kabr States "No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone." this, I believe, is because the vault was opened by a fireteam in the present. Which in turn opened the vault in the past and allowed Kabr to Enter. If you head to venus on patrol and hang around the vault entrance, sometimes you will see the conflux building, and hear the chime/sound when it opens the door. I myself have witnessed the sync plates active and seen the door open but not seen a raid party, a few times I have shot at Praetorians and a Raid party has appeared and opened the door and I have followed them into the area where the 1st chest is. Next time this happens I'll grab a video. This I believe is how Kabr entered the vault in the past as it was opened in the present and will be opened in the future.

2 RepliesEdited by HeadButtYoNut: 11/9/2014 7:09:22 PMKabr had a whole fireteam with him when they went in, but the gorgons erased them but it missed 2 of them, it missed Kabr and the hunter who had the gun Super Good Advice. The hunter freaked out and ran and went insane after he saw how Kabr reacted, Kabr managed to do killing blow to the Gorgon and went nuts, he then made it into the shield. He had started to make armor using dead Vex. It states that he caused a fracture in the vault with the shield, which is what probably makes it so you can get the shield. It seems like Kabr himself becomes the shield as he "dies" It states he is not dead, but he was claimed by the vaul. It is also stated that he infused his light into the shield. So if you get marked by the Oracles it does stand to reason that it is his light that is protecting you, and that it is Kabrs mind that continually brings the shield to you when it's needed. Someone in a past thread mentioned a possibility with Atheon. Atheon himself is just trying to send you to various points of the past. It is possible though that since the shield is made from a Gorgon , and Kabr is potentially inside the shield himself, that he is capable of calling you to him when Atheon does the time stream. Unable to change where you get sent , the Vex just put overwhelming BULLSHIT to defend the shield and keep it from being picked up. Keep in mind the reason this is a possibility is that the Gorgon itself can make it happen by simply thinking it. Perhaps all Kabr himself is able to do is make sure you always come to him (since thinking the Vex out of existence would be to convenient

With the spire bugg... Just wait on the most right side of the map, wait 2-5 min and u are welcomed to come in the vault without shooting a single fcking bullet... Game is full of glitches

Kabr did make it out of the vault. Ppl keep saying that Pahanin entered the vault with him and fled when he saw him "fall" even though there is no evidence of Pahanin actually being part of the Fireteam that Kabr originally went in with. When Kabr says "I have destroyed myself to do this. They have taken my Ghost. They are in my blood and brain. But now there is hope." That doesn't mean he actually killed himself, he may be referring to destroying his sanity. So I believe he made it out the vault and at some point met up with Pahanin and that is how Pahanin is able to quote what Kabr had sad (Kabr not being himself) "Now it is done. If I speak again, I am not Kabr." and Pahanin then creates super good advices fearing the same could happen to him. My thoughts

1 ReplyMy personal theory, due to the timelines and such within the VoG is that Kabr was fighting with future and past versions of HIMSELF. So there would be 6 identical Kabr fighting side by side

Kabr had a team but they were erased by time by gorgons and such so no one remembers them he said he saw figures shooting the vex but they were erased from time

He glitched in on a speeder so Bungie nerfed him and turned him into the shield. They in turn nerfed that to allow in splash damage.

Kabr had some help probably from the hunter Pahanin, even though the hunter did nothing else notable except flee the vault after he thought to have witnessed the fall of Kabr
