Why does Golden Gun suck (PvE)
I can do just as much damage, if not more, using a sniper. Throw in the fact that Xur sells icebreaker, and even the solar damage of golden gun is entirely useless. I personally think it needs a damage buff to make it useful against bosses, majors, and ultras. At least let it do critical hits.

It is simply for killing adds to generate orbs for your team, or if solo, to get you out of a sticky situation of a horde of thralls you weren't prepared for etc.

33 RepliesYou can't penetrate targets and make them all explode and generate orbs with a sniper. No offensive super is good against bosses or ultras. GG is the best offensive super, letting you kill 4 rows of enemies instead of a single cluster. It's not the easiest to use, so you'll need to get a little bit good in order to use it to it's full potential. Make no mistake, the problem isn't Golden Gun, it's you.

It's actualy not terrible once you figure out how to get the most out of it. Have friends take 4 yellows down to a sliver and boom 16 orbs. That's what makes GG good.

2 RepliesI said this before in another thread, but what if it was able to do critical damage against enemies in PVE, that way it could increase damage but reward accuracy like a true gunslinger? PVP would not be affected because it is an insta-kill anyway.

Because its pretty powerful in pvp i won't say over powered but in the right hands it has the range of a sniper nd its a guaranted 4 kills if you have sympiote helmet equiped

However it is a 1-2 shot kill on most of the megas/ultras (axis, hallow, raven, etc.) and on regular enemies (dregs, goblins, legions, etc.) it is almost always a one shot kill. If you upgrade it enough it has an ability to explode a target that can kill two enemies with one bullet (depending on level advanteges). Also Xur did sell a special exotic helmet that allowed you to have 4 bullets instead of three. So it might deserve a small buff, such as critical hits, in PvE [u]only[/u].

1 ReplyEdited by Naut1calMicha3l: 11/4/2014 1:41:54 AMGolden gun is prolly the most critical aspect of the hard raid at the moment, with random teleports and crap as long as one hunter teleports in with his super already activated at about 0:02 seconds during time vengeance he can actually get 6 to 8 super shots depending on the helmet in one teleport on because his super is already being recharged when he gets teleported he has the one he used outside and gets his other in the matter of seconds inside thus being able to kill oracles, hobgoblins, or pretorians much faster and make it easier on the person with the relic

2 RepliesIn PVE, I only use the golden gun for bosses. Arc blade bs Valus Ta'aurc? Not a good idea, much less Sepiks and Sekrion.

Idk golden gun was useful in the overall raid till now atheon sends random people are here golden gun was ideal to get rid of the.mobs quick and easy so relic holder could stay alive.

the only amazing thing for hunters in end game pve is gunslingers trance and chain of woe. everything else about the hunter is boring

I have a fully upgraded Hand Cannon which does almost as much damage when I hit Crit (since I use a hand cannon it seem like all I hit are Crit points). I also have the ice breaker that is fully upgraded and does more damage than the special. IMO the super should be the best tool at the hunters disposal but sadly I tend to just let my bar stay filled and not use it till some allies need some orbs. Maybe one day.... Quick edit... It owns in the raid tho. Bye bye oracles!

I think most of us can agree GG is in a good place in pvp. I think if you get precision damage on gold gun that would be enough of a buff for pve and it would rarely effect pvp.

you're doing it wrong. I use Golden Gun for almost all my PvE including radis. My CC and Orb Creation is extremely useful.

Golden gun is great for supporting others supers. I make a bunch of orbs especially with my extra shot. Mob control is really important and that's what the golden gun is about.

11 RepliesOP please go troll something else as you have entered the Vault of Glass once and only as a Titan and only killed 31. You have no idea what to do as a hunter or how effective GG is. Anyone who responds to this should understand that each super has its place and there is nothing wrong with the hunter or golden gun in the raid or in any strike. The super is not supposed to be the end-all for the champion rather, it is supposed to be used in conjunction with other skills/abilities of both the player and the class being played. If you feel underpowered using a class then figure out how best to use the classes power. Change yourself and not the class.
