Why does Golden Gun suck (PvE)
I can do just as much damage, if not more, using a sniper. Throw in the fact that Xur sells icebreaker, and even the solar damage of golden gun is entirely useless. I personally think it needs a damage buff to make it useful against bosses, majors, and ultras. At least let it do critical hits.

But sucked for everything else sadly. My warlock has Hawkmoon and it does damage in VOG. Why can't the golden gun do that?

It should do some sort of lingering solar damage to harm bosses in PvE which wouldn't be an issue PvP because its a one shot

Agreed it would be nice to see a buff on the golden gun for pve. But otherwise become a better player and don't rely on supers!

With overpenetrating and exploding targets it is actually pretty good for mobs that stand close together.

And I know it sure kills me easy enough when I happen to be the unlucky person thats the first one there. So yeah, im gunna have to say its just you, not the ability. And its not really meant for a PVE ability. You should just use the sniper for that. Its made for a more PVP oriented character. Hunters are your PVP, Titans and Warlocks are better for PVE.

6 RepliesI agree, against yellow enemies it doesn't do shit, and against mobs its only good if you choose the explosion rounds/overpentration, which I like to swap out for other abilities. But even then, they have to be weak. In the normal raid its okay - but -blam!- the raid normal mode, the real shitty-ness is in hard mode. As a lvl 29 hunter, blade dancer is useless in the conflux area (due to fanatics) and the gunslinger is much more preferred in the atheon battle. Gunslinger overpenetration/explosive rounds in any raid battle on hard mode are difficult to find useful, because you don't have the time to line up shots/group enemies together, you need to kill as fast as you see. That, and without the achylophaige symbiote helmet, you can at most kill one oracle at most, or 1 1/2 portal hobgobs if you're fast enough. But you can only do better if you have or even WANT to wear that helmet. Not to mention the gunslinger is focused damage, not AOE like the warlock or titan, so we should be able to kill a couple harder enemies easily rather than a ton of weaker ones. Well, if ANYTHING, give the blade dancer more orbs for kills.... That shit is broken.

I'm not a Hunter and I know they need a buff to Golden Gun in PVE. Just a slight damage buff.

3 RepliesYour super does more damage to bosses than any other. Void bomb and noob stomp only do like 4k. You can take 4 shots at like 2k a pop. Supers are only good for adds anyway. Plus golden gun can over penetrate and explode enemies. It's fine the way it is.

1 ReplyGolden gun takes out a wave of supplicants instantly. Golden gun takes out all three hobgoblins in the Mars portal during Atheon. Golden gun takes out the Minotaur in the Venus portal during Atheon. Golden gun 1- or 2-shots Oracles (depending on normal or hard). There are other places I use it as well, those just have the greatest impact. Learn when to use it, it's a very powerful tool.

1 ReplyPut on combustion, the enemies exploding does really good area of effect damage and you can take out whole swarms of enemies if they're packed closely together.
