There are always posts all over this forum about buying exotics from Xür vs "earning" them. So with everything being RNG based loot, what justifies the earned tag? Personally, I understand how an RNG loot system works so I dont care how people get their loot. Just curious to hear the "earners" wiegh in on how they were blessed with all of their gear
EDIT: Great responses and very valid points guys. My purpose for this post was to get a feel for how people thought of thier experiences during this game. As a fan of other games with rng loot systems I knew what to expect-to a degree. I'd like to see the loot pools be a bit more specific (defeat X boss/miniboss for Y weapon) like the Borderlands series but Im not complaining. I feel this is maybe the most balanced loot system. Its all a pull of a slot machine everytime you kill anything

My opinion has always supported Xur. Not so much for the easy access but for those who don't have the time or means to play ten hours a day or more, you have to be really -blam!-ing lucky to play very little and see Exotic engrams. I play a shit ton and I've seen one once since it's release. Once. If you played enough to earn the coins you earned the right to spend them on something bad ass. However .... they need to be smarter with this system in the future. Put things on Xur that doesn't drop in the game, either by engram or raid boss. Give both worlds a unique feel so nobody has the right to bitch about anyone. Sure you'll still have idiots who'll do it but with a system like that you can't go wrong. Casuals get their gear and the hard core players have their gear that they grinded hours upon hours for. WTB Shaders that let us pick the color scheme, shaders like that for ships too!
