I have noticed this as I play halo 3 campaign and I'm curious, is there really any skill difference between an ODST and a marine. The ODST's are supposed to be a lot tougher and better troops, but during campaign I really don't notice any difference. Is there any difference between the two in campaign?

I got him to not go on the pelican once, but he dissapeared after the tanks respawned in that big building

They say that those ODST soldiers will always get a head shot if they are given a sniper rifle.
Posted by: grimkeeper10 On The Ark I kept the red Lutenit alive the entire level was sweet.
ODST's have cooler armor. Nuff said
Posted by: Onslaught v5 ODST are immune to headshots
not exactly but they take 2 sniper headshots and they take more than one BR headshot too.

In Halo 2, they were so fragile that a stray particle of air knocked one down. In Halo 3? They seem as effective as the marines, and maybe a little tougher. They certainly stand up and fire and take hits a lot more than the marines usually will.

ODST's rock. Marines suck.

An ODST wont die with one sniper shot in the head probably because of their helmets and they seem to survive longer than marines.

they are better than marines cooll dudes
Posted by: Aqulae ODSTs: - Shoot at more distant targets (compare a Marine to an ODST in a warthog turret) - Can carry Spartan Lasers - Actually hit their targets - Wear kickass helmets and armor in general - Take cover instead of charging like the average 5-6 skill corporal over XBL - Get headshots (zomg!) - Rock
it made me laugh "actually hit their targets" once i had a marine in the gunner seat of my warthog, and it took him atleast 30 seconds to kill a single grunt oh and does ODST stand for, orbital drop shock trooper, or, orbital drop ship trooper, im pretty sure itts the first [Edited on 03.26.2008 8:18 PM PDT]

Plus, they look better than a normal marine. And half of being a hero, is looking darn good while doing it!

In other words, they're better.
Posted by: grimkeeper10 but do you ever like notice skill level difference in a fight, like do they shoot better, or faster, or take more hits etc
apparently they have better range and accuracy with weapons and don't die as fast
