Seriously, when is the ammo loss bug being addressed?

[b]UPDATE January 7th: Because this is still getting a lot of views and the original was essentially a rant, I've replaced it with a much easier to follow outline of the bug. Bungie comments and responses are located at the bottom. A (kind of) workaround is included.[/b] [b]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/b] [b]What is the bug?[/b] * Reduces the available ammo of a given weapon or weapon type. [b]How long has this been around?[/b] * Since game launch. [b]When does it trigger?[/b] * Death (technically, respawning AFTER death). * Going to orbit. * Returning from orbit. * Cutscenes. [b]What makes it trigger?[/b] * Any item with the buff to increase the amount of ammo you can carry of a particular type. * Rocket launchers with a bonus to tube size as a perk. [b]Methods I have used to test.[/b] * Equipping the item / using a synth and killing myself. * Gathering ammo legitimately and killing myself. * Multiple death types (suicide/jumping off cliffs and NPC death). [b]Results of testing[/b] * With items this has reduced ammo 100% of the time, without them it has never reduced ammo. This is not an intermittent bug, it is extremely easy to reproduce and should be a priority to fix. *All tests were performed with the items of the type equipped then tested again without them. Each test has been performed at maximum ammo capacity and at varying levels of ammo. Results did not change.* [b]Items I have personally tested with and witnessed the bug[/b] * Lucky Raspberry (Heavy ammo increase) * Crest of the Alpha Lupi (Special ammo increase) * Hezen Vengeance (Tube size increase from 2 to 3) * Iron Regalia Boots (Increases scout rifle ammo) * Various other items with the same buffs. Results unchanged and the above are my 'go to' testing set. [i]Update post-DLC - I have retested with Dark Beyond armor. Bug still exists[/i] [b]Ammo types I have tested and seen reduced[/b] All of them. [b]Workaround[/b] * Items with the 'Field Scout' perk turned on are not effected by the bug - this seems to only work for certain weapons. I have not found a rocket launcher that it works for. * The actually loss of ammo seems to occur when you spawn/are revived. Therefore if you have time (such as dying in a hard mode raid) then you can avoid losing ammo by switching out the items that provide the buff before you are ressed. [b]Other observations[/b] * With rocket launcher tube size increase, the ammo drops until you are down to 2 (thus the bonus isn't active) * With special/heavy increases the ammo drops until 1 rocket/minimal machine gun ammo * With primary ammo it seems it only drops to a certain amount then stops, however when you respawn in any situation it seems you are given a certain amount of primary ammo to start with. This seems to be the threshold and is possibly just offsetting the bug. No way for me to confirm this.     • Same thing with ammo synthesis. Used it three times last night but did not go through, then I realize my character's inventory was completely full. I deleted a house banner that I picked up, and the ammo synthesis worked again. I think you need to have at least one slot open in your inventory in order to avoid that ammo glitch/bug. I might be wrong but a good theory to test out.

      • It does need to stop got full warlock raid gear abd guess what the buff is heavy ammo come i want to use my 32 light level gear but dont want to lose the ammo

      • Apparently it's a very difficult bug to "resolve." and that deej has said they are working on it. Sounds like the perk isn't always active and that 2 rockets are deemed part of the perk. Therefore, when the perk is removed upon death or going to orbit, the rockets is also removed. Sounds annoying...I would add a line of code that adds two rockets to reserve ammo upon revive/planet hop. So you would technically loose the 2 rockets but would gain them back. 2 rockets= whatever the equivalent missing heavy ammo would be.

        • Contrary to what you and others have said, it is a bug and Bungie [u]has[/u] addressed it. They clearly stated that they are aware of the issue but are having trouble fixing it without causing a ton of other problems. Save some glimmer and buy some synth and stop crying.

            • I feel your pain as it has greatly affected all of us. How about the lag that happens at Crota at end of raid? Rubber banding Knights, Crota's shields won't go down no matter how much DPS you shove at him. I think this is all due to so many jacktards dashboarding the raid to hurry up to 32 so they can be the best that it's breaking the server. Hopefully when Bungie techs get back from vacation they shut it down for a couple days and fix it.

            • I made a post about this on day two. I found not only did I lose ammo, but solar ammo seems to be the most valuable. Really ridiculous when you are full up on all ammo types, get kicked (bee or Marion berry), then return with zero ammo in the heavy and left without the drops on the ground. Like ammo and stuff I saw from my kills. I go back into the game with my friends and all my kills, ammo drops, and engrams are gone. Can't tell you how many times we play a Nightfall and someone gets kicked and enters to get nothing special, yet someone who just joins at the end gets the best item usually. For doing nothing you get rewarded? How does this make sense for the people who play? Should I play Sunset Overdrive until the next DLC, so at least I don't get penalized for playing with someone who does nothing to help win the match? Ahhhhhh. Lol. I still love the game however. For as many issues I have with the game, there are far more reasons I love it, which outweigh the negative.

            • Yeah this has been a problem that has been pointed out since inception of this game. If they haven't fixed it by now (with many many threads like this one), then I don't expect these dick heads will ever fix it... Pretty pathetic

              So many fundamental issues with this game they haven't fixed yet I just dont see it happining. They are probably working on destiny 2 now. so they will prob drop the next dlc and fix everything for the next game. Which I wont be buying.

              • Hey bungie get it done now. Or drop the cost of heavy ammo to 250 glimmers and reduce the cool down to 2 minutes. 300 pack of heavy ammo used this week. Ghorn is the key in this weeks night fall and new raid.
