Where the -blam!- is our Destiny! I know many of you are ok with playing a five hundred million dollar buget game, just for it to be alright, or something fun to do when your bored. Many others including myself think, this is BULL SHIT! Here's a few reasons why?: Lack of story, Ships used just for loading screens, No soscial experiences, Lack of Character customization, B.S. Vendors, Boreing Tower with nothing to do, No galatic space exploring, bugs, errors, Worthless Factions, No diolog choices when talking to PC's, No Hero gratitude from random Pc's, Lack of Mounts, -blam!-ing Grimoure cards that arn't even included in game, No massive war drop zones with allied Pc's. Theres so much more that could of been inovated in this game. Don't you think with that kind of budget they should of gave us so much more? I played the beta which was great. Bought the digital copy of the game on 360 and got the Xbox one version free which was great. I had my first issue with the Canary error within half an hour of playing and had to spend a couple of hours trying to find a fix which wasn't great. Started playing properly which was great again but then very shortly the wonder started to evaporate and the joy of playing along with it. I could go on about the same three maps being recycled no matter which game mode you choose to play in the crucible, the fact that the story is far too short and makes no sense (I stopped paying attention half way through Venus) or that pretty much everything about it is just a grind. I could do all these things just as everyone else has. I could also complain about the year wait for content from the dlc (and how thankful I am that I didn't buy a season pass) too and that is a huge issue right now! Pretty much all of Destinys problems come down to one core issue: it doesn't know what it is. Is it a shooter or is it an mmo? It wants to be both and yet can't excellent at being either. It's a very ambitious take and kudos for everyone involved for trying, but it's already been done back in the days of Phantasy Star Online. Today a shooter is a very different beast and so is an mmo. The shooter side of Destiny is too loose to be satisfying and the MMO side far too shallow and so both sit uncomfortably together like two guys who's girlfriends want to chat but they really have nothing in common. The content has been designed for a shooter but it exists within the world of an MMO and as such immediately draws comparisons with others (such as WoW) and is lacking. The depth of character creation, quest variety, storyline, loot and options for side quests is pretty much a thin veneer compared to what even F2P MMOs offer so that's upset people, along with the RIDICULOUS asking price for DLC. The shooter elements similarly don't have the depth needed to keep people entertained these days. Despite the illusion of headshots, any encounter boils down to how the numbers are working: attack, weapon level etc. While this works for other games, in these post CoD times a shooter needs to feel like it's rewarding the player each time a bullet thinks home. There's no checks and balances so each fight doesn't rely on a players skill with a weapon but rather how long he can keep the stream of bullets going on the right direction. Speaking personally I'm a grumpy, anti social bugger and I can quite happily play a game like this and shun human interaction all day. I was most excited when starting the game to get hooked on the mythos, the history and the characters but everything is as flat and featureless at the Speakers face. After the first three missions any semblance of a gripping, page turner of a narrative was quickly jettisoned in favour of enemies that look like rejects from a Saturday morning cartoons toy line with motivations that only extend as far as "they're bad". There's no reason for me to engage with them beyond cannon fodder. I knew this game was one for the long haul right from playing the beta. I'd heard as much from various websites and magazines and I can fully get behind that but what I can't support is what we have at the moment. Destiny as it stands is a broken, schizophrenic, shadow of a game that seems to have let down pretty much everyone I've spoke to about it. I have no doubt though there's many people very glad to have bought it and to still be playing it now but as you can see from reading the responses each post from Deej et al generates they do seem to be in the minority. It's in humanities nature to complain more than celebrate and some of these posts can be seen as bandwagon jumping. A lot however are filled with genuine grievances. How can the game be fixed? I don't know, it's a big question to answer and one which I can only guess at. All I know is the game we were promised, the game we got excited about during the beta and the one some of us queued for at midnight was not the game we ended up playing. And that's not great.

The only thing you slammed dunked on our heads were lies. Good luck selling Destiny 2 after all your failed promises. And to think I actually took up for you and said "oh no man, Bungie wouldn't do that, Activision MADE them do it!" Well Activision was also operating with Sledghammer, a game company that never has made a COD game before (therefore would be more impressionable than a company such as Bungie) and it's actually awesome imo. Whether you like COD or not, the level of work that was put into that game is superb. The graphics are the best I've seen on the next-gen, the gun audio is out of this world, and the story is actually a well written narrative with a well written structure and plot development. Not to mention Kevin Spacey was da man whereas Destiny's guest star was a dud (I'm inclined to think he wasn't given a good script, the man is a great actor, if you don't agree watch GoT). In short: if Activision is evil how come only one of it's games failed to deliver what it promised? COD exceeded all of my expectations, and I think even COD haters would agree, they didn't lie about anything that would be in game that isn't in there now. Bungie may not be wholly responsible, but they are much more liable than most (including myself) than originally thought. I will play Destiny 1 through because I hate leaving something unfinished (plus I bough the limited edition so I already have paid for the DLC... smh). But I will not buy Destiny 2, or any other Bungie game until I see an actual genuine interest from the company towards the concerns of its fans.

Quests sound cool. Doesn't help me with the stupid epic bounty I have (PVP is not my thing in this kind of game). The extra bounty slots will help a little. And matchmaking will still need work. It's a ghost land. The game thrives on coop but it makes matchmaking unnecessarily painful. I'll keep watching to see if you entice me back. 3 story missions sounds really light on content though...
