I agree. I got a purple special weapon engram and it turned into Icebreaker. I think the cost in coins is fair as it sets you back on other items you may want to acquire. I don't mind peeps buying the item. Makes up for poor luck.

Random is random. 9 coins guaranteed from weekly on hard and the rest of the coins come randomly from engrams and completing strikes. You could run 30 strikes and get one exotic from a legendary engram or you could get lucky and get it on the first engram you get. The rng system is one of the biggest flaws I'm the game. It needs a lot of attention to fix it or come up with something different.

Yeah, some people doesn't seem to understand that RNG is not an earning method, but really just distributely random (you're either lucky or unlucky). However, earn strange coins by doing weekly strike is a different story. We already know that every Tuesday week, the weekly strike is reset for people to earn strange coins (depending on the modification diffculty, it is either 3, 6 or 9 strange coins. Weekly Strike is without doubt earned by players, because we know what rewards we are getting from doing the weekly strike. So, for those people who seems to "bitch and moan" as you said, just let them be because I'm pretty sure that they know what is RNG and how it is done. I'm pretty sure it's just greed and jealousy. For instance, If Xur did not exist in Destiny, the players that got their legendary/exotic engram from RNG can show it off to their friends and brag about how good they are because it's not common to have. That's why, when Xur comes in town, people who already got the exotic/legendary, in Xur shop, from RNG are angry and pissed at the result because now everyone has the similar or the samething as the people that got it from RNG. However, they should be glad and grateful that Xur is there in Destiny because without him, there would be no strange coins; therefore, there would be no good rewards on weekly strike (if we were to think that bungie wouldn't give a shit about us than that's for sure). Then again, if There was no Xur, weekly strike would either be removed or rewards would be different (possibily a legendary engram at the end using RNG or a crappy reward).
