It is luck, just like any other exoitc SHOULD be, look at WoW for christ sake, they don't go around selling their legendary armor/weapons (legendary being equivalent to exotic) and hardly any people have it because of the luck

Random is random dude.... and that's where Xur comes in and he gives me toys that i can only dream of - i must have really upset the RNG god in a former life... :)

But there's also a specific item attached to a specific boss or event. Which is how it should be. This shit is beyond terrible.

Exotics are supposed to be the rarest of all weapons, they are the weapon when you go against someone in the crucible with that make you go "whoaa dammn dude that guy has the suros regime... Holy crap!" Instead of that i have the habit of inspecting my enemies when going in skirmish and this is what i see "suros, suros, suros... Ice breaker, ice breaker, ice breaker... Pocket infinity, pocketbinfinity, pocket infinity" you get the point.... So it SHOULD be a extremely rare weapon and really hard to get not something you can just buy at the cheap price of 17 strange coins which can be done under an hour, don't get me wrong, i buy the weapons too, all i'm saying is that i would prefer if xur didn't sell them

First, as others have pointed out, exotic is not the same as super rare. Second, none of those are reasons why rng only would be a better way to get exotics. Maybe if the only way to get them was for completing something hard, I'd be with you, which is why I'm against him selling weapons that are raid exclusive or bounty exclusive, but then again he doesn't sell those. Like pocket infinity for example, that didn't come from xur. Everyone you're seeing with that did the annoying bounty (spent two weeks waiting for that jerk gunsmith to sell a damn blue fusion rifle). Anyway, if the exotics he sold weren't the ones that came from RNG, I could see myself agreeing with you. As it is though, I hate that system and anything which brings relief to it is a good thing.

You would prefer to get those out of a boss who can be pushed off, now if it's a very rare loot from a boss i'm fine with it, all i'm saying that the RNG is better than buying them with easy strange coins, and pocket infinity i know it's not from xur but it was icluded to get my point across of how easy it is to get exotics, and the only reason they are not "super rare" is because of xur selling them.

And my point is that rng is a horrible frustrating system and people who are for it are either entitled douche nozzles who already have the weapons and can't stand it when others have nice things, or they aspire to be. In my opinion the only thing that should be a super rare drop are vanity items. Awesome shaders, awesome sparrows (or even other kinds of mounts) awesome ships, yeah go nuts with making them super rare. But the actually important gear should be relatively common drops off of very hard bosses (that you can't push off cliffs). That's where the rarity should come from. Something which proves "yeah I'm awesome" and something which can definitely be said to be earned. Exotics you get because of being lucky? Yeah you didn't earn that any more than someone who grinded out coins. Trying to make those rare is just assinine.
