MAJOR UPDATE:
Deej responded to me calling his attention to this thread in another thread. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/76633207/0/0
It will probably get buried rather quickly because every time he posts, 1000 replies follow.
You weren't ignored. I read that.
The point that Harold was making was that, when someone plays a game for 100 hours, you learn a lot. We've obviously created something you want to play. It's very obvious that you want to talk to us about how it can be better. When we stay focused on game feedback, good things can happen.
EDIT: Please read the article I linked to before posting. I have been accused of taking his statement out of context, which I do not feel I did at all, and I want to make sure that no one feels like I mislead them.
Harold Ryan: It's so broad. When I read a lot of the feedback, and I see it's after playing for 100 hours, it's hard not to couch that in, well if you played the game for 100 hours... What other game do you play for 100 hours, right?
This is not grounds for dismissing our feedback like you suggest. I'm calling you out. What games do we play for more than 100 hours? Since you don't seem to know of any, please allow me and my fellow gamers to educate you.
Fellow Bungie.net users, please feel free to add to this list and/or tweet away @Bungie or @Destiny your ideas about how many other games you can put more than 100 hours into. I'll start.

Edited by grimtooth: 11/2/2014 6:01:51 AMyou can add in the first MMO RPG for console that was done right, everquest online adventures by Sony for the PS2. They can look at that to see what a good console MMO is all about and the time sink it was. Before the first expansion my group of four people had over 500 hours in the game.

Join us, Fellow gamers!

This post is to add to the Game list LodeRunner (Apple IIe) Beyond Dark Castle [B&W] {Silicon Beach Software} (Mac) [not the colour one in the Mac App Store] Crystal Quest (Mac) B&W + Colour (Mac LCII [I also have the moden XBL version but not counting the time for that] SimCity 2000 (Mac) Railroad Tycoon {Microprose} (PC) Knights of the Sky {Microprose} (PC) X2:The Threat {Egosoft} (PC) X3: Reunion {Egosoft} (PC) X3: Terran Conflict {Egosoft} (PC) X-Rebirth* {Egosoft} (PC) (These 4 games can be summarised on the list as X-Universe Series) * I've logged over 100 hours on X-Rebirth prior to patch 2.5. I want to say a bit more specifically about X-Rebirth so I'll be replying to this post in order not to hijack the thread. A Shout Out to the people that played the Street Fighter 2 Arcade Machine trying to defeat Bison I think you've put in 100 hours. A request for anyone with 100+ hours in Game Dev Tycoon to post on this thread cause that needs to go officially on the list

My wife's fun bags;) I play with these puppy's the most.

Hey there! I found a video that helps describe what a DLC is and an "Expansion" spread the video to other people. It's in my post
-
bumpity bump
-
Swtor.. If I had a PC I would still be on that as a paying member. 400 hours plus on that.
-
Space invaders, Yars revenge, asteriod, combat, galaga, river raid, frogger, moon buggy, dig-dug all 2600 greats
-
It's hilarious that these people working in the game industry honestly think that just by logging 100 hours into their game that it somehow is AMAZING, even though the feedback on those 100 hours is -blam!-ing terrible... Not to mention the only reason this game is even getting that many logged hours is SOLELY because of the multiplayer aspects this game offers. It has been well documented that everything else about this game, besides the base controls, is -blam!-ING TERRIBLE... How these people are so out of touch with gaming is beyond me, it's sickening.

Edited by Musashi Orboro3: 11/2/2014 5:57:06 AM
This is not grounds for dismissing our feedback like you suggest. I'm calling you out.
I think you are taking his comments out of context. He's not saying that he is dismissing feedback based on the number of hours people play. I'll try to paraphrase:
When I read a lot of the feedback, and I see it's after playing for 100 hours, it's hard not to couch that in
The feedback of people who have played for 100 hours or more is not something to be ignored. That's what he means by "couch that in."
well if you played the game for 100 hours... What other game do you play for 100 hours, right?
What other types of games do people play for such extended periods of time? What is it about them that keeps people playing? In short, he's asking what are these games doing right. Bungie certainly has enough feedback, many of us have expressed to them what is wrong and needs to be fixed, and it does seem that they are listening. However, the ball is in Bungie's court now. We can continue to give them feedback, and they can continue to tell us they're listening, but ultimately the burden is on them to prove that they can put things right.

This deserves a bump even though no one in the company would ever inform money bags over there that he is conceited in thinking a game is awesome after 100 hours played. Insult to the gaming community. Surprised no real outlets (IGN etc) haven't called him out oh wait thats right all of the media outlets beg for his approval...
-
Bump.
-
They still haven't addressed the differences between the game they hyped for preorders and the game they delivered. Open world? Brilliant story?
-
Many, many of those I have played for a lot of time, and I'm trying to avoid common doubles like dark souls or mass effect. Kingdom of Amalur reckoning Castle crashers Mario galaxy 1 and 2 Mario kart Minecraft Super smash bros (especially the 64 original!) Fable 1,2, 3 There are so many!
-
Excuse me?! Where in the flying f*** is Gary's Mod on that list? But seriously, Gary's Mod and Legend of mana I easily clock in at over 400 hours and I'm the low score out of my friend on that one.
-
2k hours in dota 2......
-
Continuing to bump
-
Fallout, disgaea 1, 2, 3, nearly all final fantasies, Pokemon Mario kart Flyff Etc
-
Agreed and Ive played a good majority of the games on that list and even more. A little embarrassing to admit but final fantasy tactics took me four years from when I was 10 to complete with everything in game unlocked and maxed. I could only imagine the hours I logged to FFT while i was also addicted to spyro the dragon.
-
Well here goes nothing for tomorrow when they realize their Twitter got bombarded.
-
Warframe totally-like destiny but expanding
-
Saw a few of the Civs on the list but not Civ IV specifically the Caveman2Cosmos mod. Also, Advanced Wars 1&2 on GBA & DS. Even downloaded EMU versions a couple years ago to replay them. Same with Super Mario RPG. Loved that game.
-
Edited by JOYROCK: 11/3/2014 4:49:13 AMonly reason i got alot of hours played is because i like shooting things and ppl in game!!, theres nothing else for me!!!, so since i love fps games so much i had to keep playing, ... ive been destiny free for 1 week, go look at my hours now Ryan!!, go see the major drop in my hours, lmao what an ignorant prick, he dont know shit about gaming, cod is 12 mins away, go check my hours on cod aw in 2 weeks asshole!!

Chaos legion, Lost Odyssey, Shadow Hearts. (Had a better story than destiny.)
