So I was just sitting around, and realized that despite liking the game, playing it, shootin' stuff and jumping into the VoG raid once or twice (unsuccessful) I don't actually know who Atheon is. I mean, he's just some dude hanging out in his man/woman/asexualrobot-cave. And people rock up trying to fill it full of bullets. Doesn't seem very neighborly. About the only thing (which I think is implication) is that it's Vex, and even then, what about Batesian Mimicry? For a game that is visually so impressive, and can be really fun to play, the story is amazingly disappointing. Trouble is, that there's not much that can be done about the story now. There's no fix, no patch nor expansion that will ever fill the plot hole that birthed this game. I really expected better.
