I figured I would just put it in the title since I know someone will say it.
Yep I suck at halo.
But I absolutly hate the nade toss to shoot delay.
After you toss a nade there's about a one - two second delay before you can shoot.
I bet you if I was runnin and gunnin I could pull a trigger and drop a frag at the same time.
In fact if I am not mistaken it's a standard taught tactic to spray a doorway while tossing in a nade.
Keeps the heads down don'tcha know.
You can't throw grenades when you are dual wielding... but yes, the delay is accurate, so I think we're good. MC is a supersoldier, not Mr. Fantastic with super-stretchy fingers.
Yes he is just look at my service record gallery...

In halo 2 you could swap to sword kill and swap back and no one would ever see the sword at all... it was more than annoying.

I don't have any issue's with the nades, once in a while I wish they had a bit more punch. But then again I thank my shorts when they don't. I just know when I am closing that open ground between me and the target I have to quickly plan an initial nade release with enough time to recover for the following shot. Not a big I wouldn't change the game or anything. Just like everyone else once you get used to it, it's no big deal. But I do so love to stir up the flamers.:)
-
Anyways, for a constructive response finally, it takes more skill to anticipate where the enemy is going, or else, when one person gets you down to one shot, you toss a nade and shoot at the same time, killing the person, I think if I were the person, I would be very pissed. It is just inputed for balance.

I never thought about the distance thing, but it is strange you can throw that thing that far. But of course MC has that killer armor helping things along right?

It's for balancing.

This is not a tactical shooter. This is not a SWAT game or CQC training game. It is Halo, a fast-paced action shooter with futuristic weapons and environments.
-
It's not superman. It's used all the time in police entries and in std CQB tactics. You can pull the pin hold the spoon or let it cook. granted your not going to be accurate with either your nade or your shots, that's not the point. My whole point is why is realism scattered about so hap-hazardly, they take the time to insert a hand adjustment delay OK. I can live with that so make the weapons shoot more like a real one's atleast where you point it. BTW I'm not hurting because of this I play around it, I just wanted to raise the discussion and see who else thinks it's odd.
-
Its the disadvantage of throwing a grenade, you have to think smarter and know when to throw grenade. I have made that mistake countless times myself but I do believe it makes it fair that you have a delay before you can shoot again because you choose to throw a grenade rather then fire. If this feature wasn't implanted otherwise it would be even more of a grenade spam attack in every game.

That's true: chief pulls out the pin one-handed. The delay is usually just waiting for him to steady his weapon. Maybe he's saying if you're using a duel wieldable weapon you should be able to fire and throw simultaneously. In any case I'm happy with whatever makes the weapon balance nice which is the situation we have currently, so.... yeah. It's interesting, I've never heard people complain about this before. I guess in a big game like Halo 3 no detail goes unnoticed.
-
Okay, so they don't have an animation for it. Whoop dee. The time delay is just about right.
-
There are times in which I get ticked of about it, but most of the time I go for head shots with what ever gun I have and I don't find the need for it.
-
Posted by: Mech Sicken Lol at ImFaMoUs... but thats a good LoL. Mocking LoL at OP. Go whine elsewhere. I bet you you would need to stick your gun in your holder, grab the grenade, pull the pin, throw it, and get your gun again. That might, and just MIGHT, take a second.
That's how it happens in most shooters. For some reason in halo it only involves slightly lowering your weapon while throwing the grenade with your left arm.
