How can player wear what they want and still be level 30?
As it stands the only way to reach lvl 30 is to have 4 peices of armor with 30 light each. As exotics can reach 30 light the rest of the armor must be obtained through random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else is worthless. I believe this is not the best way to reach lvl 30 because it completley ruins the entire armor system.
First, it makes every other legendary armor obsolete because regular armor caps at 27 light.
Playing on your lvl 30 and just got a sweet legendary drop? oh it's a legendary armor engram? No way it reloads auto rifles quicker? Well, dismantled.
Secondly, it prevents players from customizing their characters to their play style by making default characters with all the same armor perks.
Want your lvl 30 character to specialize in hand cannons by being able to reload them quicker and hold more ammo for them? Too bad you get to reload special weapons faster and hold more heavy ammo like everyone else!
And what happens when they raise the level cap? Will all the armor currently in the game become useless?
Well I might have a solution for that.
Bungie could add a random drop from the raid called a "VOG Seal" or something. What this does is you can apply it to any piece of legendary armor and it unlocks another progression sphere on that armor to be leveled up and increase it's light to 30.
Now any and all legendary armor is now useful.
Obviously there will be some limitations like, it can only be applied to a piece of armor once, cannot be applied to armor that already has a max light cap of 30, etc...
The same concept can be applied to the new raid and dlc coming out. With this I think everyone wins.
Players can use which armor they want but still be required to play the raids.
Problem: Raid Armor,
- Is the only way to reach lvl 30.
- Makes every other armor obsolete.
- Ruins character customization by having everyone be a default lvl 30 character.
Solution:
- Add a random drop for a "raid seal" which can be applied to any legendary armor to increase it's light
Thoughts?

Edited by robofighter4: 10/30/2014 2:16:31 PMHere's the thing... Being level 30 has no advantage over being level 28 or 29 outside of the Hard mode raid and Iron Banner (Probably) as those are the only times one will face enemies higher than level 28. (Bosses may be an exception, untested) You can just wear what you want, and put on your 30 light gear to do the raid if you so choose.

The new raid gear is going to make the old raid amour and exotics obsolete as they are going to be the only way to get to level 32.
-
they are dumb period
-
I think they should add in new materials that let you custom make your own legendary armor. More mmo style where you can forge it and what not.
-
or they can just raise light levels on exotics and legendaries
-
Regular legendary armor helps you to reach level 30, if you catch my drift.
-
you can reach lvl 30 with 3 raid gear peices and one exotic.

Edited by hellr8zZrR: 10/30/2014 12:37:16 PMThe new cap in "The Dark Below" will be 32 as the leaks suggest ... So they obviously have a way around that - i hope it does not suck. Edit: Also see this post for further info. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/75735220/0/0

I'm glad they are making some PVP gear that will get you to 30 but they also need nightmare that will get you to 30. That solves that issue but another manifests itself. We all have to look alike and that's the worst part of it all. There are soooo many cool looking items in the game and the ability to keep "Styles" is what the game needs most. This will allow players to look like anything they want but still have the stats of the better gear. DCUO and a few other games have this function and it makes the game 1000 times better in that department. I love Manifold Seeker Armor for my Warlock but I can't ever wear it because it makes me softer than tissue paper. I should be able to rock that look but still be strong. Bungie needs this feature above all else when it comes to gear.

I like your idea.! need it all to be a but more custom hey with stats and bonus's.
-
Hmm, I see your point, but i haven't fount an extoic yet. Where do you get it? All I've got are dumb exotics.
-
-
Regular legendary armor doesn't cap at 27. Regular legendary armor caps at 29 when it's fully upgraded.
-
I really dig your idea man!
-
Also, you should change the title to get more people's attention. I really want to see this idea added into destiny
-
This would be perfect then I could wear any armour in the game, look how I want and it would just be great c:
-
Dude, you just won the best idea on the Internet. I really hope bungie listens to you and adds this in, cause I would live to wear the armor I want without having to wear raid gear to be level 30!!!!!!
-
does anyone know what happends if you abandon a exotic bounty?
-
That would definitely help when you get duplicate raid armour. (all I get are boots)
-
-
The want us to be unique and so "no more than a piece of exotic armor equipped" but the only armor that has 30 light is the raid one, so how can i be unique?
-
Light level is your Item level and everyone just wants to be thirty so quick and bitch about grinding does anyone here play MMOS ? Orrrr
-
I want this in the game, u sir are a genius
-
That's... That's actually a brilliant idea!
-
-
fantastic idea! i could be able to keep my handcannon quick reloader Gloves <3
