Warlock Melee Is Broken

Warlock melee [b]not abilities[/b] has much larger range than all the other classes. It's also a semi AOE, it hits in a [b]area[/b] in front and to the sides of the user rather than just a direction. The area in which the attack takes effect only effects a single person at a given time, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a AOE (area of effect). The warlock melee is much easier to land hits with. Not only that, the warlock melee has zero travel time, while the blink strike must lunge towards the opponent. Guaranteeing that in a melee battle, not only will the warlock have the easiest time aiming their melee attack. Their melee is guaranteed to hit first. This makes it [b]extremely[/b] easy to use, and instead of it requiring skill, people just spam it. I even see people spam their melee after they have shot a bullet, even if the enemy is already dead, just in case. A warlock even once told me, that he calls his melee, his second shotgun. [b]Base[/b] Warlock melee: longer range + AOE + no travel time = unbalanced Plain and simple. Edit 1: Another problem the [b]base[/b] warlock melee is even more effective and reliable than even the blink strike for the hunter. Which is an [b]ability[/b] with a [b]cooldown[/b]. That is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

    This is a silly post. Of all the things that could be fixed you wanna point out a melee? It may have slightly more range, but doesn't have nearly the abilities to help it that other classes have, hence why it should be a little better than others. If people stopped complaining about minot things that they just don't have much of an understanding on and complained about the things that needed actual attention from bungie, this game would improve much more quickly.

      Was eh on the whole thing until you said "area in front of them". Last I checked the area in front of them is a direction..aka forward. Secondly, there is a cooldown on the melee..it just doesn't affect what you think it does. Though if I am correct don't hunters still have a regular melee/knifing when blink strike is on cooldown? So ultimately it comes off as you trying to compare an ability melee with a regular melee.

            • Warlock melee isn't broken. They are considered a semi caster class. Why wouldn't it have range on it. compared to other melee abilities i'd say we're even. Don't forget gunslinger melee, the throwing knife is extremely effective in the right hands. Just because people randomly abuse the warlock classes mechanics, doesn't mean it's broken. There are some flaws with certain abilities for each class. There is still some balance issues. Most of which aren't game breaking. Minus the idiots who exploit fireborn in competitive pvp, scumbags.

                    • Each class has benefits and disadvantages. The hunter knife does the most damage with a crit. The Warlock has the most range. The Titan shoulder charge thing basically one hit kills anything. They are balanced, they are just not equal though.

                        • Seriously, enough. Not [i]everything[/i] that kills you needs to be fixed. Assault rifles, shotguns, fusion rifles, blade dancers, titans, warlocks, wah wah wah. Are some nerfs necessary? Yes, and the nerfs to the auto rifle and shotgun ranges were well deserved. But now that you've got nothing major to bitch about, you're just nitpicking. I'm so sick of reading posts like this and dreading that Bungie will listen to PVP whiners and lessen my overall experience, just because you don't want to change your combat strategies or improve your aim. If you want a completely level playing field, devoid of depth (or the illusion of one), go play any other dime/dozen FPS. I'm tired of my $60 experience suffering just because you bitch louder and more often than I do.

                          • I think you may be overstating the issue. It's not a SERIOUS problem. There being no goddamn story in Destiny is a SERIOUS problem. Random incessant connection interruptions (right as your about to finish soloing the daily, or at the end of a raid just before the last hit) is a SERIOUS problem. A warlock killing you with his "spirit fingers" or "jazz hands" is not a SERIOUS problem. Is it balanced? Hell no. Name one class feature that has a perfectly balanced analog to another class. In my opinion, only the actual class attacks should have the full ranged function. All normal melee attacks should have the same range as any melee lunge distance. But that's just my [b]opinion[/b], and simply because I have an [b]opinion[/b] does not constitute a SERIOUS problem, nor so much as suggest that any shits be given.

                              IMO warlock = fine ( the other classes = weak) Titan being weakest when described as a melee class worse melee skills in game. They need to buff the other two and not nerf the warlock. They will lazily opt the easier choice tho and nerf warlock sadly and homogenize the classes even more.

                                  • I end up doing that to. I shoot a guy with my shotgun and then melee. Then the guys kill me with one melee and I die. Once I'm dead, he dies because of the shotgun shot and not the melee.... Is it my connection or just a game delay? Another time I was playing clash. I came across enemy Titan and stabbed him in the BACK! He turns around and punches me and I die instantly. He took no damage from the melee I used on him, which should be a one hit KO just like his! He wasn't shielded either... That just pisses me off...

                                        • Hunters have blink also that doesn't require a cool down.. The blink strike requires a cool down with the attack.. Get your facts right because everything you've posted has been wrong.. Go cry somewhere else noob
