Killing Heretic Leader - Strategy?
I've actually already finished the game - and beat this guy once - but it was a pain in the ass. - I got pretty lucky with sticking him with a grenade... and the cutscene came in after that.
Anyone got a good strategy for making this section a little easier(when you fight the Heretic Leader and his "Fake" copies of himself)???

Beat him on legendary last night. Early in that level when you get the fuel rod cannon hold on to it and dont use any ammo. You can drop it at times so you can get another weapon but ALWAYS go back for it. The only hard part is when you have to cut the cables... you dont have a secondary weapon to defend yourself with, and you cant drop it because you might lose it when the station drops so use cloak a lot. It's all worth it when you can kill the Heretic much faster because on Legendary he'll kick your ass real fast.

Just overload the plasmapistol on the Holograms. They will "die" immediately...

I just usually collect the fuel rod guns that the grunts spam you with earlier in the level. You can carry 30 fuel rods for it, it's pretty handy for the fight.

If your looking at the room as if you just came in, with the hangerbay doors straight ahead(other side of hte room though)...say the room is a square. from the door you entered in on legendary hes the top left heretic, i forget. then bottom right heretic

actually for me (on heroic) i ran into the room...with a depleted sword which is good for nothing (i didnt realize i was running into the hanger). Luckily i located 2 needlers along the left wall after i ran in and on about my 12th try i finally blew that sucker to pieces.

Thanks for the tips. - I am starting Legendary tnite.... so these tips will be helpful. Energy Sword.... probably the way to go. - just never thought that one through.

To defeat him on Legendary I used dual Plasma Rifles to take out the two holograms as quickly as possible, then I stuck a Plasma Grenade on the Heretic Leader. It's a good tactic, although it takes a few tries.

On legendary and heroic he becomes rather difficult, it's best to take cover until one of the holograms comes near you then stick it with a plasma grenade. Once both of them are taken down go up and nail the SOB with everything you've got (watch out for his plasma rifles though) then the Holograms come back and repeat the process, you should only have to do it twice so save up your plasma grenades.

this was simple for me actually, 2 hit kills each time. hide behind pillars and when he comes close use the plasma sword to kill him. if it's not him hide again. repeat till bloody and doesn't move. [Edited on 11/22/2004 11:54:56 AM]
