Cheap or not?
So I have officially pushed off The Templar and Atheon by myself. I know some say that it's cheating and stupid but I am a 26 warlock and I am playing the way I want. Am I being fair or is it actually cheating/exploiting?

3 RepliesI would not call it cheating or exploiting. They designed the map. They made the NPC unable to spence the edge of the map. They programmed the AI to move away from a DOT. It looks like the text book definition of "creative use of in game mechanics" but I am sure some one will tell me I am wrong.

What ever happened that cheats are now so frowned upon by the industry? I get the hate for things like bots or hacks in pvp or for stats, but who cares about an ai/environment exploit?

They do give a shit. They are patching it but apparently the Atheon patch was harder than they expected. Was supposed to go in last week but maybe it hit today. I'm so torn. Have I contributed to pushing Atheon, yes. Templar, no. Is it exploiting, yes. My feelings are kinda along the lines of, do it legitimately once....push his ass off then on.

1 ReplyIt's cheating. I personally don't differentiate between cheating, glitching, or boosting. It's all the same bullshit to me -- you either play straight up or you cheat.

1 ReplyDown in the bottom right corner of the planet screen is the credits. Don't bother with the rest of the game click that and you finished. That's even faster then the push if all you want is the end. If your looking for a fun experience play it the way it was really meant to be played and enjoy. up to you really, I know I choose to play it the intended way for the more complete version of the raid.

4 RepliesIt's not cheating, but you've been robbed of your Raid experience by this exploit. You'll never know what it feels like to go through the VOG with 5 buddies and Defeat Atheon as a team. In not going to lie, defeating Atheon for the first time was the most excitement I've gotten from a video game since Halo2 and Mw2

1 ReplyThe game is about the journey not the destination. Personally I think it is cheating (and so does Bungie) but it's your choice. If you don't want to experience the game for how it is actually supposed to be played then fine. Again, it's all up to you (until the patch it).

1 ReplyNot cheating. Not my cup of tea. I enjoy running the fights with my clan. But I also recognise that running the same battle over and over again is not to everyone's liking. If they just want to push Atheon and roll the RNG dice, that's their call. In PvE, people should play the way the want to. Not how other people think they should. It is a game.

2 RepliesSo, you are exploiting a bug (i.e. you are taking advantage of the fact that you can use your grenades to cause a pathing issue, which leads to the boss' death). The bottom line , it is an exploit; enjoy while you can. :D

2 RepliesThe only thing I find cheap is that I didn't get an invite -_- lol honestly it's not an invincibility glitch or anything if he chooses to get scared of your grenade and suicide of the map...then -blam!- it. Did u at least get some good loot? I pushed atheon on hard this week 3x got a ship...another ship.. Then on the third finally a head piece.

1 ReplyPlayers fall off the map all the time, don't see why its a big deal if a boss does. But I do understand Bungie wanting to make the encounter a worthwile challenging encounter. I'm just alittle saddened that players will teleport at random, kinda takes away the teamwork structure when fighting atheon.
