I like to solo and I like PvP. I solo nightfall strikes like many, and I don't like having to find a group and to set aside hours of interrupted time for a raid. I do it when I am able, but otherwise I work on a second or third character. The thought of being able to get two pieces closer to thirty without a raid is great to me. I appreciate that some people prefer raids and groups to PvP, but while I was in that boat years ago, I no longer want to set the time aside to go raid a couple of times a week. I love that multiple paths are developing.
Edit: to clarify, I do raid. I just don't like having to plan my day around a video game. With missions and crucible, I can play for 30 minutes and quit if I have to, and I won't feel like jerk for leaving a group. I don't even think I'll quit trying to get all of the raid loot, but I like that there will be more than one way to get some gear soon.

Ultra excited, 15 raids and only 3 raid pieces (3 toons), finally I will earn my level 30, as random crap is not giving it to me, despite my effort.
-
Yes. This game won't give me my gauntlets or boots from raid. I'm hoping I get them before ib comes back
-
I am pretty pumped about this. I finally tried the vog and got kto'd on the second part when the boss was close to done.
-
why would anyone not be in favor of this? hey, all of you raider elitists... you now have another piece of lvl 30 gear to swap on or off with your raid gear. different abilities, different visual presets. some more variety is always welcome. I've only been gifted raid boots on my first raid clear... and that was a lotttt of raids ago lol. il be stoked to finally get another piece of lvl 30 gear, so i can feel like im progressing again and not just helping new raiders ^.^
-
Seeing as the toughest challenge in this game is meant to be the raid, i think they should be rewarded over people who do not do the raid. The crucible/iron banner is not a challange in the same league as the raid, so why should they be rewarded with the same level gear. Makes raid pointless. But i dont think this is what it is....Everything at the top will be made available to everyone, but then the bar will be raised again(level 32). This then makes raiding worthwhile again, and the level 30 will have to wait for the next iron banner, and by that time, the bar will be raised again

Edited by Justice XC: 10/26/2014 5:30:44 PMI still don't agree with either method. Essentially PvP players have better odds of getting level 30 simply because you can play over and over throughout the week. You can only run the Raid once per character per week... I understand the drop rates are "better" on the raid but about 20 times through 3 characters no Raid armor here lol..
-
I am if it can be earned through playing and not rnd gods....
-
We'll see. If I STILL don't have my raid gloves by then, I'll try to get them from iron banner. If not, I'll be doing iron banner anyways. lol
-
You mean the ones they force you to play the Iron Banner to obtain? Yeah, super psyched.

Edited by RizenSaga: 10/26/2014 5:58:35 PMIm a level 30 warlock, and I'm excited for it. I think it'll give everyone more options, and boost the player base overall closer to 30 for the next expansion. I like that they limit you to two slots only for the pvp. You have to at least get one raid piece.

THANK YOU BUNGIE
-
It will be a nice option besides VoG to get 30 gear. RNGesus seems to get his jollies by kicking me in the nuts.
-
Bungie foccused too much on either raids or crucible
-
I'm getting IB armor for all my characters. I already have raid gear but pvp > pve
-
I like to play solo. And personally think this is one of them things that's looking after everyone playing the game. Bring it on
-
I've attempted the raid as many times as I'm allowed on my titan, and have yet to even get gloves, or the helm. Meanwhile, my friends are swimming in raid gear, while I got my virtually useless (as of right now) iron banner gauntlets. -blam!- yea, I'll be happy. I can finally feel like I'm up to par with raiding thanks to this.
-
i must be the only gamer that hates vog!!!!! ran it once and hated everyminute, just my honest opinion this game is bigger than the vault, there I said it....
-
I think the armor should be useless in PvE. Like WoW's PvP armor.
-
-
But I spent ages collecting the pieces I have now how can i chose between the raid and iron banner? Girl: why not have both? *Mexican music starts playing*
-
I'm in support of it. I honestly don't have a good enough group to run the raid smoothly every week. On top of that I don't really enjoy the raid all that much, probably due to the fact that we always struggle with it so much. And thus Iron Banner gear will probably how I reach 30.
-
Eh, I'm okay with it I guess. I know the raid required a lot of luck to get level 30, but I like that. So just keep playing each week and hope for the best. But like I said, I could care less what bungie adds into their game. If they think it'll make us happy, I'm cool with it.
-
I like that there is another avenue. It will not cheapen the vault experience since the IB is even less scarce of an event.
-
mixed. it will be easier for me to level up, but sort if cheapens the vault of glass experience.
-
I don't understand why people care. I mean the only reason to be lvl 30 is to make the raid easier. The nightfall is easy once you get lvl 29, which you can get with no raid gear. And lvl has no advantage in pvp. Also, your stats cap out in lower level zones, so for strikes you wont be doing any more dmg or surviving any longer then before. The only reason then is for the looks, but then everyone who has raid gear looks the same, you with non raid gear look slightly more unique.
-
To all of those upset about the change.... Seriously? The VoG is the most unreliable way of getting anything. Saying that people want the gear because they don't raid is the most ridiculous thing I've heard on these forums because Raid gear is based on luck, NOT SKILL. I completed Raids on Hard and Normal and it took me a while to get the full set of Raid gear while some people who I carried through the Vault received the items I needed to level up. Saying that getting the Raid gear is hard is based on the RNG system, now if the game had Raid Marks that where required to earn the gear than that would be a different story but based on the current system, thank god Bungie made another way to level up to 30.
