I like to solo and I like PvP. I solo nightfall strikes like many, and I don't like having to find a group and to set aside hours of interrupted time for a raid. I do it when I am able, but otherwise I work on a second or third character. The thought of being able to get two pieces closer to thirty without a raid is great to me. I appreciate that some people prefer raids and groups to PvP, but while I was in that boat years ago, I no longer want to set the time aside to go raid a couple of times a week. I love that multiple paths are developing.
Edit: to clarify, I do raid. I just don't like having to plan my day around a video game. With missions and crucible, I can play for 30 minutes and quit if I have to, and I won't feel like jerk for leaving a group. I don't even think I'll quit trying to get all of the raid loot, but I like that there will be more than one way to get some gear soon.

I love the non raid 30s. Every level 30 hunter looks the same so now you can have a little more originality. I sport the raid booties with IB mittens and the exotic chest with the queens shader. Now if only there was a decent lid.
-
I know I am. Getting the gauntlet tonight. After 12 hour shift work finish. Hell yea. Level 30 I'm coming!!
-
I think kids that still have queens armor because they do nothing but pvp shouldn't be near 30
-
I hope Titans get a helmet. That raid helmet looks horrible on Titans and Hunters.
-
I hope it be them boots
-
I'm excited for more variety in the look of Guardians.

Edited by SaferMurderweapon: 10/27/2014 8:47:02 PMI am. Sick of battling the minions of RNG. I would very much love to work for my gear rather than grind my time away to play the weekly lottery only to get the same -blam!-ing thing over and over. Plus there is almost no incentive to play Crucible whatsoever aside from XP and bounties.

Every time someone mentions it, the overwhelming desire to fap is too strong. Guardian Down - You have succumbed to the fapping.

Not me cuz I already have raid gloves and plan on wearing my exotic chest piece.
-
I'm excited. I need one more piece and I'd rather not do that God forsaken raid again.
-
From what I read it sounded like the next iron banner was coming out around the time the dlc is released. The level cap will be bumped up to 32. Everyone would have to do the new raid in order to reach the highest level. I could be totally wrong.
-
Is it just me, or anyone else realize 2 pieces of IB gear will not make you 30th without 2 pieces of raid gear or 1 raid and 1 exotic??
-
I like the idea. Bungie needs to give us more options to level up to 30. I personally think Iron Banner should have full gear lvl 30
-
An event that is actually worth playing! How could you not be excited? This is what Destiny was meant to be about, not glitching a broken raid, then claiming to be better than everyone else because you have more time to farm than working gents.
-
Dunno how this is gonna work for me....I have one piece of Raid gear, a chestpiece. An exotic helmet, and legendary legs and arms. If Iron Banner rewards only include a chestpiece and arms then I'm still one piece (three light points) short of 30. The Raid has been very unrewarding for me so far, even on hard. Although I could now start my own Aspect of Glass Dealership lol.

People who have no friends and suck at the raid! I think I just made fun of myself....
-
Wait, what is this? Can someone please explain?
-
Raid is fun with friends and randoms. After second raid completion I got chest piece but already have lupi wich is better overall for my play style and comes out to same light. So, being able to lvl up another way is pretty cool. I enjoy the grinding and random drops but would also like to be able to earn it a different way even if I suck at mp. Good luck fellas
-
The perfectionist in me will more than likely try to get both sets... But my love for the crucible makes me extremely happy to see this come to fruition. The iron banner gear definitely looks better on titans and hunters too (while I find the warlock raid gear to be epic).
-
I feel like you should still require the raid helmet to be 30

Edited by firstDead: 10/27/2014 8:48:58 PMRaids take about 1-2 hours, three at most. And you're missing out!

You can beat the raid in the same time it takes you to solo the nightfall, i'm sure.

I think it's great. I think it's at least a step in the right direction, but I think that the correct movement should be PvP specific gear. There's no reason to get to 30 if you aren't raiding, so I understand why it wasn't included, but aesthetically, this should have been added with PvP Hardcore gear, where those that play primarily PvP can be rewarded for their efforts which is arguably as difficult as the raid and just as if not more time consuming. I've argued this a lot, but I really think what should be added is a PvP specific vendor or faction that awards gear up to level 30 requiring extreme crucible feats, such as in a league or tournament with your team or winning 25 in a row which unlocks these purchases. Furthermore, the gear should be useful in PvE, but it should be given perks that almost entirely pertain to PvP only, such as damage versus guardians or perks that don't help as much in a raid (like faster melee or agility increases). This would be identical to raid gear, which typcially provides boosts only useful in raid, like damage vs. oracles and damage vs. minotaurs.

Edited by Gulf Coast Girl: 10/27/2014 3:13:16 PMI just wish that if they are going to bend over backward to please the crucible players who don't particularly care for the PvE side of the game that they might just do the same for those of us PvE folks who don't like the crucible. Two things that come to mind: 1. Don't make us do a crucible step for our exotic bounties 2. Change the faction vendors to accept Vanguard marks as well as Crucible marks for gear Seriously, we might like some of those firearms too... but we hate the crucible. So why only cater to the Crucible players? Lastly, I would hope whatever they do with the Crucible gear for level 30, they make it as painstaking as it is doing the raid. In other words... take A LOT of play and not hand out the gear like it's Halloween candy! It needs to be as challenging for them as it is for us on the PvE side.
