Abandon Exotic Bounties
Has anybody else abandoned an Exotic bounty due to having to grind through PvP in order to complete?
Recently got the bounty for Thorn and have completed everything up to the 'acquire 500 points from void kills in pvp'. Got nothing against the destiny pvp other than I suck at it and it really isn't for me. Getting very close to just binning the bounty off but thought I might check for help or other peoples experience.
Is Thorn worth the grind?
Can anyone make some suggestions about making it bareable? I'm playing as a hunter.

No, none of the bounties are even remotely hard.

I don't understand why people instantly just give up at the PvP parts. It's not hard you just give up way to easy.

Edited by Desmond of Vanguard: 1/10/2015 11:44:21 AMI have many times. I got the Thorn and Super Good Advice. I don't enjoy the PVP, so I pefere not to do these any more than I have to. Oh and if you have Hawkmoon, Thorn doesn't even compaire.

I abandoned the Thorn bounty for just that reason. Am pretty good at PvE but really suck at PvP and the crucible.

Thorn is more than worth the grind! Honestly on my hunter it's just so much fun to use, you won't regret it and it might even get you more interested in Crucible, it did for me I've started playing pvp much more than pve :)

Working on bad juju now and only need pocket infinity, all the rest I've done to get the new 2.0 versions. Edit: I play as a hunter and I did it with some friends in clash, took me about 6 matches to complete. Used all void weapons, Atheon's epilogue, a void Fusion rifle( trolley problem), and a void heavy( switched between LMG and rocket launcher as the situation required). Remember assists count.

Just abandoned invective and thorn. I'm not good at all with pvp and after weeks of trying it I just got tired of the being frustrated. This is from a player who has done VoG and CE without cheese as well as non fps pvp style games. The penalty for death when faced with fps pvp d00ds proved too much for my patience. Sadly, I still slog through the bugs issued by Bungie willingly.

Not yet, I suck at the crucible but still managed to finish Thorn and Invective. I got the invective yesterday, as for Thorn, I've done the crucible part - going to try Xyor the Unwed next.

I only abandoned one beacause i allready had the wepons (bad juju, thorn, invective) i dont like how u have to pvp tho.

Thorn, bad juju and a few others are all in line for a major buff cos there names and there places in the exotic list are not worthy of there titles as they are weak as fu ck. So best bet is do the bounty and store it away for when it is buffed.

the pvp part is nothing compare to the last part. How i did it on my hunter use bladedancer for invisibility and a shotgun and fusion riffle depending on the map. It took awhile I usually do 50 100 points then do something else. Can't say how good thorn is yet just got it. Last part of the bounty you pretty much will want to stay in corridor before phogath for xyor to show up and bring ammo synthesis. You'll need a solar and arc damage weapon for it.

Here's how I did it Be a warlock

Just do it. It's not that bad. Here are my tips: Get a void sniper (any will do as they are all the same in PvP except for the special modifiers) Get a void rocket launcher Now, play the crucible playlist on the bottom (not the row of 4). This will only play large maps. Now, stay to the outside of the map and snipe. Be sure to watch where your team is as well as your radar. This will help you figure out where enemy players are. Learn where the green ammo pickups are and stick somewhat close to it if you can. Crouch a lot. It doesn't make you invisible on radar, but it helps. Now snipe and gg. If it is an objective type game, camp the capture points from a distance and snipe. Don't go to the objectives (I hate saying to not play the objective, but for the objective of thorn, it's better this way). Hope this helps. I got my thorn bounty complete in about 13 games.

I've abandoned about 4 exotic bounties. Unless it's the machine gun one "super good advice" which is fairly quick, just to get the energies from dismantling it. I don't need them and honestly the fusion rifle is crap I dismantled that piece. I don't like hand cannons. Better for me to use the space for the bounties for crucible or vanguard for the rep.

I just abandoned 2 because I have gotten the same 3 bounties about 15+ times (that's not even exaggerated). The energy it produces for upgrades isn't worth the hassle anymore for me. I hope someday I get one of the other exotic bounties.

The thorn right now is shit, slow reload, 6 bullet clip but you should still do the bounty. You can brag to people you did it and its suppose to get a buff some time bungie announced that a month ago I did it very quickly. Just get a void shot gun and run around special ammo that's how I did it
