yes, Borderlands (and probably Diablo's) loot system is far superior. it should be scaled like this if you ask me
daily story chest: 1-2 blues, slight chance of purple.
weekly strike: 3-4 blues, fair chance of purple.
Nightfall: at least 2 purples, with a chance for Exotic
Raid: 3-4 purples, with good chance for Exotic.
in addition, these chests' rewards should increase with the difficulty of the mission you do.
hell, even if they just put a bunch of regular chests at the end, that would do. Borderlands players like myself know the feeling of destroying a boss and being greeted by a load of chests which, granted, may contain rubbish, but it's great to look at! another idea I have is to give the strike bosses a very very small chance to give a unique Exotic on highest difficulty weekly or Nightfall (e.g. Valus Tu'uarc could potentially drop a Rocket launcher, Sepiks prime a Fusion Rifle etc.). this would give people more incentive to team up and take these "Badasses" down.

I'm more for 5+ rewards from strike (and other event) chests, varying in types. If you want you want to keep a player base around, you have to reward them correctly and fruitfully. Plus, Public Events should be a 100% chance to get a rare material. Not this RNG bs.

i agree. I just put some numbers up as an example, it would be up to Bungie to tweak it as they see fit. and it's really annoying because I need one more shard and i keep getting ENERGY! makes me want to bladedance my screen..

Edited by Harven: 10/23/2014 7:25:09 AMDon't know about Borderlands but Diablo? The only thing I liked about it was I could run a bot with a Sorc to hit the Forgotten Tower, Mephisto and Diablo on Hell. Leaves me with time to do other stuff while those high end items piled in :)

haven't played Diablo, hence why I said "maybe". still the loot system needs fixing. random my ass, that RNG wants us all to burn..
