This weeks nightfall Phogoth. Alot of peoples strategy is to use the two rooms before phogoth. Take some popshots with arc weapons then retreat into the first room when witches and knights come.
Most are accepting that this is an ok tactic to use or the rocks in the back left of the map.
But on the other hand. We have the raid templar fight. The tactic there was to use the sniper perch using the rock as cover taking popshots after the relic brought down his shield.
Don't see to much of a difference between the two tactics. The only difference is:
One got a patch and the other does not.
How can the same tactic be both good in one instance but an exploit in another?

Bungie CLEARLY knew that the bosses can be pushed off the edge, if not then they clearly don't know what they are doing and have a bunch of idiots working for them, it's common sense. Either they knew it could be done, but didn't think their fan-base were smart enough to think of it, which would then insult our intelligence, or they're completely retarded and didn't test it properly. If they knew it could he done, then its their own fault for leaving it this long and letting people think it was OK to do, it should've been impossible to do at LAUNCH if they tested their damn game better.

1 ReplyThere is no CHEESE spot. Only places of environmental advantage. If using the game design to assist in cover is cheesing or cheated then I have cheesed and cheated every game I have ever played. Ffs look at COD veteran mode! Cover! If I'm just using the controls and environment given to me by the developers then I am playing the game fair. If I find a sweet spot or push a couple raid bosses off, this is fair! If u don't like that I got my vex like this it's tough, I EARNED it. Flame that all you want. You guys would make crappy soldiers, "Don't cover Jenkins! Stand there in the open and shoot like a man!" Bang. Jenkins is dead.

I didn't think the Templar part was bad. It's just taking cover on the high ground. The phogoth one they almost had covered with the shrieker. But they left the other room free. The fact that the adds don't come in makes it feel a little cheese worthy. Either way I use it because screw phogoth

14 RepliesThe raid was the hardest thing they created to date in this game. By finding a creative method to cheese off which they didn't come up with insulted their dignity. Basically waaaaa, I spent time making this. Your not supposed to do it like that, waaaaa.

A patch may come into play eventually for that strike. If not, I see why. The raid is more important to bungie. That comes before the other things, which is very understandable.

Sitting out on the sniper ledge allowed you to bypass a mechanic meant in the raid. Cheesing a boss in a strike isn't the same. There is no special way needed to kill them or stay alive. Besides nightfalls are difficult due to artificial increase via modifiers to make things extremely unfair. Raid is difficult because of the mechanics set in place and by design. It makes sense that they would patch THE hard experience. But I'm sure the strike boss cheese areas will get fixed at some point.
