You do realize that ALL that eats up processing power that could be better used to animate enemies, achieve more realistic lighting, and to improve the combat AI of PvE enemies? That was one of the big problems with Battlefield for, they got so ambitious with their "destructible environments...that they couldn't get the basics right. It's not going to rain on Mars, because it is a DESERT world. There is no rain on the Moon for a similar reason. Hell there aren't even any plants or (non-FAllen/Hive) animal life on the Moon. There is no frank rain...but if you think there aren't weather systems that affect both the Cosmodrome and the Tower, you simply aren't paying attention. The Auroras are absolutely goregous at night in the Cosmodrome...and I've seen early morning mists and fogs on the Tower plaza that are equally beautiful. ..and the raindrop effects on your helmet visor when you look up at the sky on Venus are sublime. . I swear that some of you can't be bothered to actually play the game because you're constantly on the hunt for something elseto bitch about.

  • I'll reply to this purely on what I've experienced. I got it on my ps3 to get it free on my ps4 so I can play with friends and clan on both systems. PS3 destiny looks like fuzz and haze when compared to ps4 cgi movie quality backgrounds. I haven't noticed any weather cuz I don't have time to look. I barely have time to put an hour in. A day. Usually... Hahahaha I just noticed yesterday when on the moon. I can see earth rotate, very cool. But anyway. Not all graphics are equal so that may be some of the problem right there. Just throwing out an idea.

  • Good point. I've only played the game on next-gen consoles.

Just throwing that out there.

  • Yes, weather is there. But like I mentioned, it's very mild weather that barely grabs my attention. I want the real weather that Bungie promised.

  • I agree with your last paragraph, but you should understand that you're in the wrong, too. Nobody cares what it takes to put weather into the game. And that's because Bungie, according to these people, said they would have weather, so it's irrelevant what problems there are. Don't promise something you can't deliver on. "People lie all the time! Even politicians!!" Okay but does that make it right? Do we really wanna buy a game based on advertising when we don't know what's a lie and what isn't? Nobody does. So that's why people care about weather, because it was promised. Nobody cares about the excuses.

  • They could put all that in like DICE did for BF4, and then we would probably have a broken game that is still not fixed nearly a year after its release. Game working > weather effects

  • I completely agree; functioning game> pretty game. But don't promise something you can't deliver. If your game can't handle intense weather, then don't promise that.

  • Fair call. But we did all "get on board the Hype train", just as a lot of us did with BF4. Destiny will possibly be the last game I pre-order, although I do enjoy it and think that overall it is pretty good. I haven't even done the Nightfall strikes or the raid yet, and managed my first solo weekly heroic strike last night so there is plenty for me to do yet. Yea they over promised, but the game does work

  • Yea there's a lot more to be done until you hit 29/30. Destiny has its ups and downs. But I am with you on the no more preordering. Too many let downs with games lately
