And people say there is no story. God forbid you have to read a little now a days. It's like other games like halo and gears of war. They had books that explain everything and give back stories.

Those games you mention have rich lore and backstory IN THE GAME. You didn't need to go online and read to get the story that was being presented. Games are suppose to tell us a story WHILE WE PLAY IT. You confuse people not wanting to read with the fact that this game failed to deliver on the story end in game. There is also still the big mystery as to what exactly the traveler is and why it came to earth. That is something even the cards don't tell us. I wish Bungie would have started Destiny from the beginning when the Traveler first arrived and then allowed us to fight in the war. We would have such a better understanding of what is going on and it would have made for a much better story and experience. In the end the game has a great foundation and Bungie can now correct the things they missed on as we move forward. Just always keep in mind we pay $60+ for these games to tell us a story and Destiny failed on that end. We shouldn't have to read cards to understand what is going on in the game we are playing.

At the time you had to read to find out more about halo. They didn't completely explain what was going on with the covenant and the insides of their culture and what happened before the first halo. Gears of war never really explained anything, you had to go outside to find more. I agree the game could use more substance but more will be revealed as time goes on.

Oh and halo and gow started after many years of fighting .....just like Destiny. They also found the traveler on mars and due to defeats it retreated back to earth with the humans. Think of it as you are your guardian who just woke up, this is a time of war and people are pretty down so people don't really wanna talk about it or they never really studied up. There are written records of the past I.e. grimoire cards so you go and read up on what has happened and educate yourself. As the other games, more will be revealed in the future. Don't just play the games, PLAY the games.
