  • The thing is though they don't even need to throw it in out face, in wow mists, they included the lore in the game by having stone tablets etc in random but appropriate areas around each zone going into each zones lore and the enemies etc there. Pretty much the same way the ghosts work but once you find a ghost you have to go on the net to get the lore associated with it. I'm not saying it's complete BS, I'm just big on getting proper submerged in the story and it kinda breaks that for me =\

No I definitely get that, but going back to WoW, (never played Mists, but that sounds like a cool feature), I just think about how the Lore was gained through quests and it wasn't until Firelands (playing since BC, though I didn't really get in it until WoLK) that I really understood the lore and that the Raid wasn't just here's a bigger enemy, it was here's the BIGGEST enemy that is causing all these problems, and that WoW was standalone but not immune to escalation. If you have the dragons operating in this place, these are the ones to kill. But then you get the next installment, and it's like Ah, but you forgot about THIS enemy operating here. And it relaly felt like you were a warrior that was getting stronger and stronger. I like the general feel of the Vault of Glass, but it is really disconnected. I hope that they used the game as an introduction and that each subsequent expansion will be an in-depth answer to your questions, for example: Even the Vault of Glass was barely mentioned in yesterday's daily quest at the archive, '...in-depth mapping of a Vex Stronghold, the Vault of Glass.' The Queen requires a favor (got Queen's Wrath, but I think this is a bigger lead-in). Possibly a really interesting division between your duty to the traveler and what the Queen asks, possibly culminating in fighting her or her brother. What about the Hive? The End of Crota might be one thing if it's true, but that doesn't answer all their beginnings. Wtf, Cabal? Rasputin of course The Fallen, acting under the auspices of the Queen or perhaps an insurgency towards her? The Darkness in general. According to the mysterious chick non-guardian, the Vex are 'Dark so evil it despises Darkness itself.' (or something) Not to mention the third subclass slot. I think it'd be cool to incorporate an Anti-Light class based on lore culminating in a raid. Anyway, lots of cool places it can go, I'm just really hoping they pan out. Admittedly, I'm beginning to get apprehensive about the future of Destiny (Edited for clarification)

  • Yeah I really prefer being spoon-fed a story. I mean Mass Effect didn't make you look for the background on the universe did it?
