What if a "hard" patrol was added?

Hey guys, Im reposting this from the Destiny forum in the hopes it will attract developer attention. My post is as follows: [quote]Since I like to spend time just running around earth and Venus shooting everything in sight, I had a thought: What if there was a patrol world with enemies lvl 20+ and not the level players would be when the campaign brought them to said planet. This would probably encourage more people to play the patrol since there is now an added challenge to it. Another idea would be to increase the spawn rate of mini bosses. It sucks to grind out ~50 vandals just to find one reaver. What do you guys think? Edit: Thanks for the feedback! Some possible additions could include fighting off the Darkness, possibly on Vex controlled Mercury, as well as visual effects of a storm, rain and general darkness. Another thing as mentioned in the OP is a big increase in yellow health enemies, a lot of you agree with that part. Last, if rep earned was increased it would make leveling vanguard much easier. I will be posting this in the feedback forum so keep the ideas rolling!

  • Great idea! I also had an idea of an enemy bounty hunter randomly showing up on your patrol. See that bounty where you just killed 10 hive majors or ultras? Well why no repercussions for all those majors you just killed? The hive should send out some elite killer or group of to hunt and kill you and your team. All races could have their own elites and if you kill them they would drop a random part of an exclusive exotic weapon for that race. Different bounty hunters would drop different parts so you had to kill them to gather them all and build the weapon.

        • Won't happen. The entire planet would have to be its own instance for you and your fire team. Because think about it. Say you go to patrol earth and select level 20. Now all the enemies on the planet are going to be level 20? What about the lower level players on the planet? Which means you will need your own instance for the entire planet. Bungie won't do that.

            Have a level 24-26 patrol just one in this level range, to make instances practical. And patrol servers work the same ppl join to random server with these level settings Another similar idea i had was to have random yellow hp enemies a little above typical level patrol areas from time to time. Example: all yellows, 1 captain 2 vandals 4 Dregs. Patrols mothyardmainly on left and right boarders crossing the center rarily to avoid campaign runners gettin creamed, but itll add a lil spice for them this way as well

          • I think lvl 20+ patrols would be awesome. It's kinda silly that my lvl 29 is only being asked to slap a few dregs around. I also think they should add some depth to them. Analyze data while being swarmed to find the location of a hard hitting, big, ol bady who has the key to a room full of nasties guarding the item you need to collect. Escort patrols would be cool to.

          • READ THIS-> I don't think they should make the enemies harder in patrol because each planet is suppose to be harder enemies the farther from earth you go and more into the darkness but they should maybe make a different patrol mode where the planet is flooded with people to fight you can't just run past everyone in a sparrow or your gonna get shot by like 30-40 people it would make the same challenge as fighting higher level people but way more fun. Imagine how much easier it would be to get engrams or bountys done. You would be a raging bad ass fighting hordes of enemies who you can squash like bugs

          • Great idea as I'm a level 28 and get bored of farming spinmetal in patrol as the enemies are level 2 through like 9, usually a one shot kill. Not a fan of the PVP patrol idea though....

          • I suggested this a long time ago. I think it would make the patrol mode way more appealing to go and grind for material. Hopefully they see this and implement something in the future.

              • Or areas within patrol that just had harder higher level enemies. While we are at it, why not be able to spawn into different areas for patrol?

                • Or add an area of each planet's patrol that has lvl28+ enemies that we can fight trough and get better drops. On earth if you follow the canyon and work your way around and back down into the depths you get a little taste of this and it's a blast
