Since I like to spend time just running around earth and Venus shooting everything in sight, I had a thought: What if there was a patrol world with enemies lvl 20+ and not the level players would be when the campaign brought them to said planet. This would probably encourage more people to play the patrol since there is now an added challenge to it. Another idea would be to increase the spawn rate of mini bosses. It sucks to grind out ~50 vandals just to find one reaver. What do you guys think?
Edit: Thanks for the feedback! Some possible additions could include fighting off the Darkness, possibly on Vex controlled Mercury, as well as visual effects of a storm, rain and general darkness. Another thing as mentioned in the OP is a big increase in yellow health enemies, a lot of you agree with that part. Last, if rep earned was increased it would make leveling vanguard much easier. Edit2: over 400 comments! Wow! Some more ideas are to add patrol gear, similar to raid gear that can bring you to lvl 30. Obviously it will be hard to get, but still attainable. Another point was raised that it would not require a whole lot of work on bungie's part since the map and enemies are just about ready. I wanna hear more ideas so we can make this happen!

Having a difficulty option for patrolling would be great. Don't limit it to hard, go all out. Give me normal, level 20, 25, and 30.

Ok they did add a 'super' spawn on earth that happenes every once in a while that spawns a ton of mobs and wizards and servitors and captains - and that was cool. Sure that would be fun, but it's not like they will ever ncrease the drop rates to anything worthwhile. How else can they drag out this one weekend game for another 2 months? Well, I guess there is some merit to the idea, but my problem is the only way Bungie makes these 'harder' is by adding mobs, making them dodgier, or worst of all, making them bullet sponges (I really hate that). What they should do to change things up a bit is make the spawns way more random. Give personalities to the mobs, maybe 5-10 different behavior models for EACH mob, and randomise which behavior the mob spawns with. Then we would be engaged in a possitive way. Edit: They could increase the drop rates if there was more stuff to drop - but they would have to add a lot of items for that to happen (wish they would).

Also I'd like an increase in wars, when two races press the attack, and rewards for taking out a good amount of enemies during the war. HELL I WANT TO SEE HIVE AND FALLEN SHIPS GO AT IT WHILE DROPPING OFF ENEMIES THEN WE CAN TAKE OUT THE SHIPS TOO!

Hardmode strikes would be nice too :L Without sounding big-headed the lvl 24 strikes are now too easy.

100% agree, i like patrolling but its gets boring. An increased challenge while Patrolling is more than welcome.

When I first played patrol I assumed there was going to be a hard mode when I'd get to 20... There are still dozens of things in this game that I can't find a reason why the devs didn't include day one, or worse, things that they are not even talking about yet..

I'm all for making Patrol more challenging for higher level players. Personally, though, what makes patrol interesting is that it is sort of the open world in between missions. If you created a hard mode, this would most likely leave you playing around people who strictly chose that mode. But still, more difficult and challenging patrol play would be much preferred. Here's one of my thoughts. What if instead out it would work is you jump into patrol. It's obvious if you are level 28+ you are just doing patrol missions, gathering materials, exploring, etc. Imagine while playing, some form of enemy force is spawned with the strict goal of killing this high level guardian roaming around their turf. It's a random encounter, almost like a guardian kill squad. It would just spice things up a little bit to be playing, jumping through the standard hoops, only to get hit with level 28+ Hobgoblin sniper fire or something of the sorts. Have ghost call it out for you in warning. Maybe completing it would be almost similar to a public event? These squads have a bounty on their heads for extra glimmer and ascendant materials. Also, why not simply higher level patrol missions? They would hold a bit more importance and challenge than your standard "Run here kill that" or "Run here scan that." I don't know, I like the idea of keeping high level players with lower level players. While the crossfire could prove deadly, it would give lower level player something to look forward to. I know if I saw a group of high level players getting under attack by something I couldn't fight, I would be more motivated to get stronger. Still, these are just passing thoughts. Consider unnecessarily long post me agreeing with you.

What if there were Heroic patrols, that had lots of majors and ultras, and chests had increased chance of ascendant materials? Or Nightfall patrols?That would be interesting. And they would give you a lot more reputation, so people high level people would have more stuff to do.That would be awesome.

Making a hard patrol would be awesome. It gets so boring farming materials. There is the occasional random event, but they are still easily soloable.

An arena that would spawn a chest, that takes a little longer to open, every x amount of hours. If you step inside the arena you would be flagged for pvp and fight to the death for the chest
