Bungie, your decision to un-nerf the Mythoclast in PVE and to patch Atheon from being pushed off are good, but your decision to randomize the players that are teleported is a poor one. For starters, you claim that the Atheon encounter is meant to serve as a culmination of the learning that players have to do as they progress through the raid. When players first started doing the raid, I'm sure that the vast majority of them thought that the selection process for teleportation was random. This was certainly the case the first while that my friends and I spent on Atheon during the first week of the raid. As time went on, we eventually learned that it was the three furthest away players. Finding this out was an "ah-ha!" moment for each of us. It felt clever and intentional, rather than the glitch that you say it is. Knowing this added more depth and strategy to the fight against Atheon. It added the ability to plan and to adapt better as different situations arose. A randomized selection is going to complicate certain situations. What if three players decide to bring three lower level friends through the raid so that they can get their equipment? The group can get screwed over by Atheon selecting all three of the lower levels to teleport and they'd likely be unable to complete the portals in time, thus wiping the party and starting the fight all over again. This now makes the raid more difficult and time consuming than it needs to be. The difficulty of the raid should always be about the same, depending on the levels and skill of the players, rather than randomizing the difficulty. Without randomization, groups can better plan where each player should be until they are ready to progress to other strategies. Please don't randomize the selection, Bungie. It'd only add unnecessary complications to the raid.
