so hand cannons are just a novelty item?
i have been attempting to use the last word i got from atheon the other night and i now understand why i rarely see cannons in crucible. these things are just shit. beaten at every range by autos in every catagory. why exactly would i use one again?

19 RepliesI don't understand how you people use auto rifles and shotguns so affectively, I always go negative. Only in my last couple games was I able to go positive, I was using a hand canon. They seem like the better weapon to me.

2 RepliesI own with the hand cannon, the only reason I don't use them more is because of the slow reload. You have to play to your weapon's strengths. Don't fight an AR at range with the hand cannon, of course you'll lose.

7 RepliesAll you need to know is headshots. I have the hawk moon and it was love at first trigger pull. I love feeling the immense power in my hands every time I squeeze the trigger feeling the rounds flying out and penetrate the skulls of my unlucky targets. The sound of it is intimidating enough, but what's truly terrifying is seeing guardians crumble from only 2 rounds. You think it doesn't stack up in raids? I don't think you understand what true power is until you have blown athenon into dust from 1500 a round. So you say it's a novelty? Id say it's a lifeline.

Fully upgraded last word with all the stability perks on will melt at any range. Get better

Lol hand cannons aren't for everybody. I might get flack for this but they take a bit of skill compared to other weapons. In regards to where you land your bullets.

I have wrecked people to shit with a rare hand cannon. I recently upgraded to a legendary one. I still wreck shit with it. Once The Last Word is mine, I will be unstoppable... Yeah, they take skill. It took me a while to learn to use mine.

Hand cannons are extremely good when used by a person with high skill. They aren't like any gun and take time to master.

They're pretty nice but because Suros is a tough nut to crack they don't seem as good as they really are.

My Lord High Fixer is awesome. Some days I prefer it over my Shadow Price. It has awesome impact and is very accurate.

4 RepliesI tried out the hand cannon today and did pretty good my first match. All it takes is some getting used to and the ability to actually aim. Ya know, instead of spray and pray.

The Last Word definitely is a great gun, helped out largely by the most recent patch for PvP. It would be a good idea to get some of the early upgrades / unlocks out of the way first. Hip fire & precision upgrades that occur early really help the weapon out. I still thjnk I prefer my ARs in PvP (the Shingen-E definitely is one of the better PvP guns post patch), as things like fire rate & stability are perfect on those weapons, but there's no reason why you can't do well with Last Word.

It's probably because you're bad and you pace your shots. Hand cannons pack a mean punch when you know how to use them.
