so hand cannons are just a novelty item?
i have been attempting to use the last word i got from atheon the other night and i now understand why i rarely see cannons in crucible. these things are just shit. beaten at every range by autos in every catagory. why exactly would i use one again?

The gun is shit without upgrades. Max it, know how to play it and hardly any autorifle will stand a chance on close and medium range.

Hand cannons are wild stallions man. You gotta tame them. They reward aim and skill. Once you tame them you are one deadly son of a bitch.

2 RepliesI haven't gotten one decent hand cannon in this game. I mean I chose the invective bounty instead of thorn but if I get that again I'm taking it. But if so much rather have last word or hawk moon for sure.

Supposedly bungie will be nurfing the auto rifles more and buffing the hand cannons. But they never seem to get anything right. And it's best if you upgrade thorn with the venom in crucible. It wrecks faces if you're a halfway decent player.

I love thorn and the devil you know they are beastly. When they are leveled up they have great range and accuracy. Red hand on the other hand not so much. It's not as accurate as the other 2 that I have. Gonna buy a devil for my titan so he has a nice hand cannon.

7 RepliesHand Cannons are unbelievably strong. I used my Thorn for the first time ever in Crucible today. That thing is deadly, especially with good aim. I really don't see why people think it needs to be buffed, aside from its reload speed.

It's a good gun. But it's largely a hipfire fast move gun. Like the Fusion rifle but with shorter range. It feels weird yes -- but if you adjust your playstyle to match it you can make it work.

You need to be very in tune with the weapon. Handcannons have a sharper learning curve but they pay off more in the end. Being able to kill people with two headshots comes quite in handy if you're a good shot.

you don't even have it upgraded yet. put some time into it, before you make a snap judgment. The Last Word is a fantastic weapon.
