Halo ce netcode

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the reason the net code in CE is the way it is because the game developers wanted to support dial up connections? If they wouldn't have done this, wouldn't the factor of leading your shot be eliminated. I'm not saying I can't lead, but going back and forth between PC and console is kind of frustrating. (friends wouldnt know a good game if they saw one)I'm not too sure how many people that play have dial up connections and if the population would suffer if they were gone. I'm just kind of thinking out loud...

The only real difference between playing on dial-up versus playing on a broadband connection is you have to lead further. You can see an example of it [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6wnffr3-1Q]here[/url]. The only other games that really worked right were on PC and they were older games. Anything newer than Halo PC was really impractical for me to play.
